Chapter 7 Salutations, Mr. Hardon
- Fletcher's lackeys hadn't even laid a finger on Daniel when they had all been sent flying across the room, crying out in pain.
- The glass table, too, was smashed to bits following a slam.
- The booming noise instantly caught the attention of everyone on the dance floor.
- Even Aidan and Tia, who had just rushed over, saw it too, and Tia's face grew colder by the second.
- So you really are still lying, Daniel! No wonder you wanted me gone. You're afraid that I'll expose you, aren't you?! Had ten years in prison taught you nothing at all?!
- Aidan, on the other hand, smiled triumphantly.
- I knew it! This f*cker hadn't joined the army at all! This time, I'd like to see what other excuse that old b*stard will use to turn me down!
- Fletcher was rendered dumbfounded, for he never saw how Daniel defeated his men in mere seconds.
- This man… Is he a monster?!
- Seeing Daniel approaching him with a face like a devil's, Fletcher backed up in fright, pale-faced. "This is Tigre Estrada's territory. How dare you cause trouble here?!"
- Slam! A liquor bottle was suddenly smashed on this head, causing blood to splatter everywhere.
- Fletcher cried out in pain as he dropped to the floor, holding his head. His eyes were filled with nothing but bitter resentment. "You! How dare you—"
- Before he could finish his words, Daniel grabbed another liquor bottle and smashed it on his head.
- Fletcher cried out once more, grimacing in pain. "I'll have you know that I'm a Doyle! My family will come after you for what you did to me!" he roared when he looked at his bloody hand.
- Slam! Again, Daniel smashed another liquor bottle on his head, still impassive.
- This time, Fletcher was afraid through and through, and there was no longer a sliver of arrogance on his face but terror.
- He looked at the man before his eyes with fear. This b*stard's a madman! A madman!!!
- Terror-stricken upon seeing Daniel reach for the next bottle, he begged for mercy. "Don't! No more! I'm sorry. I'll give you money; however much you want!"
- "You courted death. How dare you use my daughter?" Daniel's impassive gaze looked to be even more horrifying than the devil to Fletcher, sending chills down his spine.
- Just then, somebody shouted, "Mr. Tigre's here!"
- The next second, Tigre ascended the spiral staircase in a fury with a large group of his men.
- Clearly, he had learned that someone was causing trouble in his bar.
- Elation instantly enveloped Fletcher's face when he saw Tigre as though his savior had arrived, and the bitter resentment returned to his eyes once more. "Tigre has arrived. Get your last words ready!"
- "Should I?" Daniel smirked as he put the liquor bottle in his hand down.
- "Scared now? Too late for that!" sassed Fletcher, thinking this madman was now apprehensive.
- However, Daniel said nothing but only stood aside and waited.
- Meanwhile, Tia's countenance turned awful as she glanced at Daniel, who was standing inside, before shifting her gaze to Tigre, who was approaching in their direction with a fury.
- Anxious, she turned to Aidan. "You know Mr. Tigre, don't you? Can you please ask him to spare Daniel this one time?"
- Aidan turned grimly in response, never expecting Tia to actually ask him to save Daniel.
- Do you still have feelings for Daniel, Tia?!
- "Tia, I thought you loathed Daniel," Aidan said through gnashed teeth. "Don't you think we should let Mr. Tigre teach him a good lesson?"
- "But he'll die!" Tia gritted her teeth.
- As much as she loathed Daniel, it wasn't to the point that she would sit back and watch him die.
- Tigre had a history of beating people to death. Now that Daniel had caused trouble here, he could be beaten to death at any moment!
- "I don't want my dad to be sad over this," Tia added for fear that Aidan would misunderstand when she saw his grim look.
- As if Aidan would believe her reasoning. He grew more convinced that Tia still had feelings for Daniel. No way. I cannot help that b*stard of a sex offender!
- At that, he took a deep breath and pretended to be at a crossroads. "The man Daniel mangled is Fletcher of the Doyle Family. He's someone even my family can't afford to mess with. I really can't help you with this, Tia."
- "You—forget it. I'll do it myself!" Tia turned around in spite, making the jealousy within Aidan burn brighter, deepening his hatred for Daniel.
- When Tigre was only a few feet away from them, Tia immediately went up to him and asked, "Do you remember us, Mr. Tigre?"
- Just when Tigre was about to fly into a rage from being stopped, he froze at once when he saw who it was.
- "Oh, you guys." He smiled at Tia and Aidan.
- Tigre's sudden smile stumped everyone around him, and so did Tia, surprised that Tigre was so amiable.
- How could Tigre not be?! He remembered vividly that this couple shared a meal with Daniel.
- Knowing Sergeant, he wouldn't share a meal with anyone he didn't consider friends, so I must put forth my best attitude and treat Sergeant's friends with the utmost respect.
- Meanwhile, Tia heaved a sigh of relief and wasted no time pleading, "Mr. Tigre, can you please spare him? He didn't mean to cause trouble. He just got released from prison; he doesn't know any better."
- While speaking, she pointed to Daniel, who faced his back to everyone outside.
- Aside, Aidan was beyond grim.
- Tigre fell silent for a moment before glancing at the couple, one after the other. "May I ask of your relation to Daniel Hardon?"
- Tia reeled in bewilderment for a moment, for she couldn't grasp Tigre's purpose of asking. But she still told the truth. "He… He's my brother."
- She couldn't care less about her hatred anymore if it meant saving Daniel.
- Tigre's pupils shrank as his heart skipped a beat. Sergeant's sister?!
- At that, he turned to Aidan and asked, "Doesn't that mean you're his brother-in-law?"
- Like Tia, Aidan was also stumped by Tigre's question, mistakenly thinking the kingpin was verifying his relationship with Daniel before deciding if he wanted to save the man in question.
- Albeit he felt absolutely unwilling to admit it, Tia was still next to him after all.
- So he could only swallow his indignation. "You can put it that way."
- "Alright, I promise he'll be fine." Tigre patted his chest with a smile.
- Elated, Tia thanked him, "Thank you, Mr. Tigre. Thank you so much."
- "Don't mention it." Tigre waved his hand and brought his men into the private room.
- Upon seeing Tigre, Fletcher sneered at Daniel, elated. "Mr. Tigre's here. Get ready to die!"
- At that, he turned to Tigre. "Mr. Tigre, it's him! He doesn't give two hoots about you. I warned him that this is your territory, but he still continued to beat us up! You have to set things straight!"
- Tigre, on the other hand, frowned upon seeing a bloody Fletcher.
- From where did Sergeant's sister meet this ruthless man? To think he even dares to beat up a Doyle.
- And so, he looked toward the tall figure only to turn grim in an instant.
- As the lights were dim, he couldn't really make out who it was, but now that he was up close, he couldn't help thinking this man looked very much like Daniel from behind.
- Just then, Daniel turned to his side, revealing his impassive side profile to Tigre, his gaze as sharp as a blade. "You've got quite the people here, Estrada." His deep voice was eerily cold, like from the depths of Tartarus, making Tigre shudder, instantly drenched in a cold sweat.
- F*ck, it really is the sergeant!
- The music outside had stopped at this point, and Daniel's words were like a bomb dropped into the crowd, causing quite a stir.
- "Yo, is this man an idiot? How dare he call Mr. Tigre like that?!"
- "What else can he be?! Only someone as stupid as him will dare to cause trouble here and even beat up someone from the Doyle Family!"
- "Sh*t, someone's going to die again."
- While the crowd rambled on, Tia turned grim, cussing Daniel for not knowing what was good for him. I can't believe this man continued to act pompous when I had begged Tigre to spare him!
- Aidan, on the other hand, was smirking. He, out of everyone here, wanted Daniel to piss Tigre out the most, so much so that he wished that b*stard would be beaten to death.
- Meanwhile, Fletcher clambered to Tigre and wailed, "You hear that, Mr. Tigre? This guy actually dares to call you by your name! Clearly, you mean nothing to him!"
- A hint of resentment flashed across Fletcher's eyes as he looked at Daniel. Let's see how you can continue to be cocky, you piece of sh*t! Get ready to die!
- Suddenly, Tigre turned grimly and gave Fletcher a hard slap, causing the latter to drop to the floor and cough up blood along with a couple of teeth.
- The turn of events shocked everyone, and even Fletcher was stupefied.
- The next second, Tigre took a step forward and greeted Daniel deferentially, "Sergeant, salutations! Wait—I mean Mr. Hardon!"
