Chapter 6
- Dave Paige
- "Make use of the door, please". I instructed her and she huffed angrily walking out.
- I don't need any girl to come to seduce me at my place of work. I fired my last personal assistant because of that and I don't need any more like her.
- I rested on the upholstery chair sighing as I remembered this morning's event. That girl is crazy, it's not like I splashed the water intentionally on her.
- And she seems beautiful but a whole lot of crazy coupled with it. Anyone who dates her has problems on their hands, I'm sure her boyfriend wouldn't have the guts to talk back at her.
- "Anna. Send in the next applicant". I said via the intercom.
- The door opened almost immediately and I heard the lady gasp which made me look up at her but I couldn't see her face.
- "Good morning, Sir". She bowed slightly and her hair covered her face partly.
- "Good morning to you, Miss. You may have your seat".
- She sat in front of me but why was she hell bent in avoiding my gaze? I still couldn't see her face properly which made me sigh.
- She finally looked at me and I paused and then remembered the events of this morning.
- I smirked a little. "If it isn't Miss Crazy".
- "Hey!! You can't call me that".
- "Well, I can if you want this job".
- She huffed angrily. "I'm not crazy".
- "But you acted like you were this morning".
- "You splashed water on me and didn't even apologize for that".
- "I was going to until you went all crazy on me".
- "Still a moron". She muttered under her breath but I still heard it.
- I cleared my throat. "Miss, can I have your résumé please?".
- She handed me in form of files and I took it glancing at it before flipping through the contents.
- "You graduated first class from Harvard?". I asked her surprised.
- "Not to brag but I beat my way to the top".
- "No kidding about the beatings". I mutter still flipping through the documents.
- Then after a while, I dropped the files back on the table glancing at her. She looks a little nervous so it wouldn't hurt to joke around.
- "I want to hire you but how am I sure that you won't beat up my potential clients?".
- She pouted cutely. "Sir, I promise to not do that at all".
- "Hmm. I'm not so sure, I mean, you are good at displaying sudden things".
- "Sir please .. ". She clasped her hands together. "What happened in the morning was a mistake and I won't repeat that tho it wasn't my fault".
- I had the urge to laugh right now but I can't in front of her, who knows if she might beat me up?
- "So it was my fault?".
- She fixed her gaze on the table. "Maybe".
- "Miss Emily Rays, you need to let go of things and not solve problems with your temper".
- "Sir please, forget all what transpired, hire me like you wanted". She pleaded as a tear slid down her cheeks.
- What?!!. Is she about to cry right now? I was just joking, her credentials are good so she has the job, I was just pulling her legs.
- "Hey, Miss. Stop it".
- I stood up and walked over to where she sat reaching down to wipe her tears with my thumb.
- For a minute there, I was tempted to take her lips in mine as I stroked her cheeks with my thumb.
- Get a hold of yourself, Dave. She is your future employee and you are the employer.
- I went back to my chair. "Miss, you are very well qualified for this job and I'll get back to you tomorrow".
- "Really? You are being serious right now?". She asked her eyes lightening up.
- "I am and you should stop the tears. It's not meant for beauties like you".
- She smiled a little and looked down at the table, a red shade forming on her cheeks. I made Miss Crazy blush, it's an achievement for me.
- "So am I forgiven for what happened this morning?".
- I pretended to think about it. "I forgive you but on one condition".
- "What is it, Sir?". She asked.
- "You promise to not beat any of my clients up even if they are annoying".
- She laughed slightly making me stare at her, she should do that more often. It's nice.
- "I promise, Sir".
- "And do me a favor, call me Dave".
- She glanced up at me. "But Sir .. ".
- "You have to call me Dave if you are going to be my assistant, Emily. We are going to work together, isn't that so?".
- "Okay if you say so, Dave".
- "Then I'll give you a call to inform you about your position, Miss Emily Rays".
- She stood up. "Okay Sir, I mean, Dave".
- I gave her a light smile and she made to go but stopped facing me.
- "Whatever happened this morning was your fault but I'm just going to let it slide".
- I chuckled lightly as she said that then walked out of my office. I do have a feeling that I'm going to like working with Miss Crazy.

- Ashley
- I gasped as he brought out pink panties swinging them around on his fingers.
- "Drew put that down". I hissed. "What are you doing?".
- He smirked. "Now can I have some alone time with you?".
- "I'm at work, hide that before anyone sees it". I told him nervously looking around.
- "So what do you say, Ashley?".
- I sigh softly. "Drew, as you can see, I'm at work and my boss wouldn't like it if I leave, I might get fired, you know".
- "Oh yeah. I didn't think about that, i guess there's a problem".
- "Now will you please put that down?". I pleaded with him.
- He smirked shoving it back into his pockets making me gasp. What have I gotten into now? Couldn't I have had a one-night stand with someone sensible?
- "Where are you going, Drew?". I asked as he stood up.
- "To see your boss, pretty. I was serious when I said that we need to hang out".
- "But I'm working, maybe some other time".
- "I will be busy some other time, Ashley".
- I sighed. "Okay, fine. Go talk to my boss but don't you get me fired at any cost?".
- "Relax, Ashley. I won't get you into any trouble". He said and walked off to the main counter.
- I crossed my arms and went over to stand with Ann while I watched Liam converse with my boss.
- I noticed that my boss was acting all humble in front of Dre but why? What is going on that I don't know?
- Ann squealed excitedly beside me. "He's so handsome, Ashley. You are lucky".
- "Huh?".
- "Do you know how many ladies are dying for his attention".
- "What are you talking about?".
- "Cut the act, Ashley. He's Andrew Renolds".
- "I know his name but is he famous?".
- She let out a scoff. "He is the wealthiest in Los Angeles city and wins awards every time considering his hot looks".
- I glanced at Liam. Is he famous? But how come I don't know? Maybe it's because I rarely pay attention to things like that.
- "So Ashley". He walked over to me. "Your boss agreed, can we go now?".
- I flashed him a faux smile. "Sure?".
- He smirked and patted his pockets before taking my hand and leading me out of the damn restaurant.
- I looked sideways at him. Does he know that he's holding my hand right now?
- "So where are we going?". I asked him as we got to his Porsche in the parking lot.
- He unlocked the cars. "Somewhere private because I need to talk to you".
- I got in and sat next to him in the car then he drove off. I sighed facing the window, I am so tired, why do I feel sleepy anyway?
- "So do you need to eat anything or let's go to an eatery?".
- I crossed my arms. "Just so you know, Drew Renolds. This is not a date".
- "I never mentioned a date".
- "Good". I faced the window. "I listen to what you have to say and we leave".
- He sped off along places as I stared at them, I have never cruised around before, it's either I've not got the time or maybe I'm too lazy.
- "And we are here".
- I notice that he has stopped the car by a very large building making me wonder why.
- "Wait". I stopped. "Don't I get a hint on what you want to talk to me about?".
- "It's about Kim".
- "Your daughter? What's wrong?".
- "Well, she keeps asking__".
- "I'm not giving her a baby sister if that is what you want to ask".
- He chuckled lightly. "No, not that at all".
- "Thank goodness". I say breathing out a sigh of relief.
- "You think I want another child? Hell no, not happening".
- I rolled my eyes. "So what is it you want to talk to me about?".
- "Kim misses you and I was wondering if you would like to come over to my place and_".
- "I'm not sleeping with you again". I cut him off.
- He tapped his forehead. "Gosh!! Ashley, let the man speak".
- "You may continue". I said amusedly.
- "Would you like to come over by the weekend for some dinner or maybe stake out? Just so Kim can stop with her nagging".
- "On one condition".
- "Which is?". He arched his eyebrows.
- I stretched out my palm. "The panties".
- "I don't know, Brianna". He smirked. "They seem pretty soft for keeps, you know".
- I frowned as he said that. Oh, what have I gotten myself into? This makes me wish Emily was here to beat him up.
