Chapter 2
- "Alright, I'll be on my way then".
- I told him and disconnected the call immediately.
- I went over to my car and unlocked the doors getting in before shutting it behind me.
- I put the key in the ignition and started the engine as I drove out through the opened gates.
- I took a packet of chocolate with my right hand and unwrapped it taking a bite out of it. Sweet, bless Kim for forgetting her snacks in here.
- I'm Andrew Renolds named after my Dad but my friends call me Drew for short which I always prefer to be called by the way.
- I'm 26 years old and the CEO of Renolds Enterprises, and my other companies.
- My mind drifted back to what Dave had told me when he called. About Dan ending up in the hospital all because of a girl.
- How would a girl beat Dan up to have ended him in a hospital? Is he really that weak or what? And why would she do that to him?
- Probably because he's a sicko. I thought to myself as I drove on, don't get me wrong with what I said.
- Dave is my friend but sometimes, he's just an idiot. He likes toying with girls and I guess this is just a lesson to him, I know he will stop after this.
- I sighted the traffic lights showing red so I stopped immediately slowing down coming in the same line as a car with two girls in it.
- I winked at the girl behind the wheel. "Hi ladies".
- She rolled her eyes and whispered to the other girl which made them laugh getting me pissed off.
- I saw one of Kim’s little toys in the car I decided to throw it through the window at them
- It landed just at her seat as the traffic light showed green. I smirked at her and sped off immediately.
- I chuckled lightly to myself, seeing her frown was hilarious. Although the other girl seemed to be more prettier too.
- Minutes later, I arrived at the hospital and got out of my parked car stepping out into the parking lot.
- I went directly inside the main entrance and headed to where Dave was.
- "Dude. What's up?".
- We shook hands. "Still in his ward".
- "Unconscious?". I asked him hopefully.
- "Nah, nothing of that at all. He's just sore in some places, that's all".
- I snickered a little. "He was beaten up badly".
- "Whoever she was, she damn right hit the spot correctly".
- "Well, he deserves it though".
- Dave looked at me. "Dude".
- "You and I know how Dan is, always like that".
- "Maybe he will change after this".
- "He kissed my girlfriend at the party last week".
- "That doesn't mean you should wish him death".
- "We still going to the club or what?". I ask him to change the subject matter.
- "What about Kim?".
- "She's probably getting tucked in bed right now".
- He crossed his arms. "Drew, When last did you tuck Kim in bed exactly?".
- "Hey!!". I protested. "I'm not a bad father here, I'm just sometimes strained out".
- "And you going to the club will help how?".
- "You going or what?". I asked him getting frustrated already,
- He shrugged. "Sure, let's go".

- I pulled over in front of a classic-looking bar. Our regular as always although I haven't been here in weeks now.
- "Hm. Drew, the ladies". Lucas tapped me as he looked around walking in further.
- I shook my head chuckling but stopped when I saw her. The lady I had thrown Kim’s toy at, was here.
- But why? And also she was engaged in a conversation with an extremely attractive young lady which just caught my attention.

- Ashley
- "Come on, Emily . Just get over it already".
- "Get over it?". She let out a scoff. "Ash, if I see that motherfucker then I'm gonna rip his face out from his body".
- "Seriously? Girl, you can't just go around beating people up like it's legal because it's not".
- "I wish I had wiped that smirk off his face".
- "Was he handsome?". I asked her.
- "Didn't you see his face?".
- I shook my head. "Nah, I was on the other side".
- "I don't care for his looks, Ash".
- "Well, just asking but hey, no beating up other people randomly".
- She rolled her eyes. "Whatever you say".
- "So where are we?". I asked her as we got out of the car.
- "Only the most upbeating club in town".
- "Why are we in a club? I don't do clubs and you know that".
- She groaned. "For once, Ash. Try to get a life, it won't kill, you know?".
- "Okay fine. Let's go in".
- "Who knows? You might just see a hottie". She continued talking as we walked in.
- We stepped in and the first thing that came to my mind was to run back out but since Emily is here, I can stay a bit.
- "So let's go get ourselves a drink".
- She led me to the counter and we both sat down. Almost immediately, a guy came along.
- He smiled at me. "Hi".
- "No interested". I told him off harshly.
- I think I should introduce myself a little bit to you all to get a scope of me.
- I am Ashley Moore. 22 years old and just graduated from college a few months back which I successfully did with pennies.
- And by pennies, I mean, working hard day and night to try to fulfill my dream of being a graduate which by the way, wasn't easy.
- I've never thought of any guy since I have my problems besides I'm used to my ex-boyfriends all cheating on me although I'm constantly given attention by guys.
- "Ash, come on, why didn't you say yes to that guy?".
- I sighed. "I don't think I'm ready for any sort of relationship right now".
- "You need to stop thinking about Dan and move on".
- "It's not that easy, Emily". I said to her wistfully. "I loved him so much".
- "He's a jerk that you shouldn't waste your time thinking about".
- "I can't believe I just broke up with another of my boyfriends who cheated on me". I was heartbroken so to say.
- "Look on the bright side, at least. You get to bed with anyone now without feeling remorse".
- "I'm not in the mood right now, Emily".
- "You sure?". She probed me.
- "I'm sure, I might as well just drink away all of my sorrows this night".
- "I wanna go to the restroom, I'll be back".
- "Have fun".
- She left and I signed still remembering the whole thing that had happened earlier.
- Dan cheated on me. I wasn't expecting it at all. I initially thought that he was the one for me but I guess I was so wrong all the while.
- "Hey. Give me some shots". I instructed the barman and he placed it on the counter.
- Maybe just a few bottles this evening won't be a bad thing. After all, what better way to deal with heartbreak than to try to forget it?
- I grabbed the bottle of Jack Daniels and opened it instantly, quickly gulping down all its contents.
- I placed it back on the counter. Okay, that was a bad idea. I rubbed my temples with my fingers to ease the intensity.
- "Evening, beautiful. Mind if I buy you a drink?".
- "As you can see, I got a drink already". I shot back at him.
- "Just one won't be so bad".
- I flashed him a smile. "No thanks, I don't take things from strangers".
- "Then let's get to know each other". He said taking his seat next to me.
- "I'd like it very much if you just leave me alone right now".
- "But how can I?". He moved closer to me. "I can't resist a beauty like you".
- "She said to leave". I heard a deep voice say behind me.
- The guy glanced at me before walking off leaving me to breathe out a sigh of relief.
- I turn on my chair facing him. "Thank you, mister".
- “Andrew. Drew Paige".
- His name seems so familiar but I really can not tell exactly where I've heard it before.
- "Ashley Moore". I replied politely.
- "An exotic name for such a pretty name".
- I chuckled lightly. "Nice try but I don't get easily moved with flattery".
- "I was hoping you would". He replied with his brown eyes twinkling.
- I was just about to reply to him when I heard Emily's voice behind me.
- "You?!!". She shrieked at him and I noticed that Drew's smile faded immediately.
- I glanced at Emily. "Huh? What's going on?".
- "He was the one who threw that toy at me".
- I immediately stepped back away from them because I knew how my best friend was. She is one crazy bitch who can kill him right here, right now.
- "Hey!! Where are you going? We didn't get to finish our talk". Drew beckoned to me.
- Emily smirks. "Oh don't worry, honey. You can get to talk to her when she visits your grave at your funeral".
