Chapter 4 Warren's Taste Is Not Bad
- Mrs. Brown laughed and walked away. She thought Penelope was joking.
- Penelope recalled those days when she went to college to audit classes. She was more diligent than other students, so many professors remembered her.
- Penelope stared at the screen and suddenly found that the domestic situation was excellent. Why did her parents immigrate to a strange country all for their family to break up? Penelope was puzzled.
- "School-deprived." Penelope is so frustrated that she didn't eat much at dinner.
- Her plan of eating more as compensation is temporarily delayed.
- Warren returned back at nine o'clock. Penelope looked out of her bedroom window and saw his car entering the yard. The car stopped, and he got out. He looked cool in a black coat.
- After a while, Mrs. Brown knocked on her door and told her that she should go to the Eastern District to meet Asher's grandparents tomorrow.
- Penelope quivered a little, thinking of Asher's words.
- After all, the reason why Asher has to ask Penelope for help is to escape the forced marriage arranged by his meddlesome grandmother.
- In Asher's narrative, his grandmother is sharp-sighted. Asher hasn't quite mastered the art of trickery.
- To make things go smoothly, Penelope decided to ask Warren for some suggestions.
- After all, it was Warren who picked her up and brought her to the UK, although he always ignored her.
- "My mother's preferences?" Warren put down his book and turned to look at her.
- Penelope nodded and said, "It's my first time visiting my boyfriend's relatives. I'm very nervous." If she doesn't act herself appropriately, Asher will not pay her, and that cannot happen!
- "You don't have to make preparations. My mother won't be fastidious if you are Asher's, Miss Right." He took out another book and turned the pages.
- His answer is very artistic and embarrassing. As long as she is the right person... So is she or not?
- If she is, his grandparents would still be happy even if she left empty-handed; if not, no matter what she does, she won't be able to satisfy them.
- "So...I don't have to prepare in any way?" Penelope hesitated.
- Warren just nodded. It seems that he wanted to stop the conversation.
- Penelope turned back and was ready to leave.
- "By the way, avoid being sloppily dressed. My mother preferred girls in modest dresses."
- Penelope is hit by his words.
- "Ummm, I want to ask, what does' sloppily dressed' mean?" Penelope turned back and grinned, shining her bright teeth.
- Warren stared at her and said, "I am also a relative of Asher. What did you wear the first time you met me?"
- "T-shirt and jeans."
- "That's it, don't wear it again." He lifted his chin slightly.
- Penelope took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down.
- "Okay. I understand." She smiled back and nearly cut her back molars.
- Glancing at the door where she disappeared, Warren remained expressionless.
- Penelope went back to her room and turned her suitcase over.
- Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy...
- For the first time in her life, Penelope is crowned with the title of "sloppily dressed." She used to believe that she deserved to be called beautiful even if she wore bed sheets. Now, for the first time, she doubted her appearance.
- Penelope was deeply stricken. She opened her suitcase and vowed to impress Warren.
- At ten o'clock in the evening, sitting in the middle of a pile of clothes from Zara, the Gap, and so on, she seemed to understand what Warren Duncan meant. These simple clothes are not bad if she is going to meet friends. As for visiting the eldership, well...
- Forget it, and she doesn't need to care so much about what Warren Duncan thought. It doesn't matter.
- Penelope gave up and packed her clothes. She lay down and waited to be scorned by Warren tomorrow.
- Then she heard someone knocking on the door.
- Penelope got up and sprinted to the door. It was Mrs. Brown. Penelope got along well with the butler and Mrs. Brown these days, so she was able to remember their faces. "Mrs. Brown, what's the matter?"
- Mrs. Brown raised the clothes in her hands and said, "Mr. Duncan asked me to send them to you. You may try it on to check whether the size is appropriate."
- Penelope raised her eyebrows. "Is this for me?"
- Mrs. Brown smiled awkwardly and said, "Well, something like that."
- Penelope took the clothes from her.
- Covered with a dustproof suit, she can't see the true colors of the clothes.
- "Thank you." Penelope sincerely thanked her and took a deep breath.
- Mrs. Brown just nodded and left quickly.
- Penelope threw the clothes on the couch and stared at them. Is Warren sure that she doesn't have any modest dress, enough so for him to send some to her?
- Honestly, it really hurts...
- Penelope opened the dustproof suit, and she saw a gray coat. She touched it, knowing that this coat might be more expensive than all her clothes in the suitcase. When she was on the catwalk, she wore nice clothes, knowing how expensive clothes feel.
- She put on the coat and walked to the mirror.
- "OMG!" Penelope was shocked. The comfortable coat, with quality material, fitted perfectly.
- Warren's taste is not bad, although he is not good at appreciating beauty.
- Penelope thought while she was admiring herself in front of the mirror.
- She went on to wonder if Mr. Duncan would choose something for her to wear along with the coat.
- Penelope is ready early in the morning. She is full of energy. She ran to the garden to see the butler collecting flowers and chatted with him.
- She sat on a stool with a piece of wood in her hand. Occasionally, she stared at the sky and watched the birds leaving in droves.
- "Oh, the scissors are inside." The butler patted his head and turned to the tool room. Penelope smiled, stretched her legs, and enjoyed the sunlight.
- It's a breezy, sunny day.
- Here comes the sound of footsteps. Penelope sat upright immediately and saw a man trotting towards her in the morning sun.
