Chapter 49 Dinner

• No one could deny the fact that Olivia was Kristoff's choice of daughter-in-law. Kristoff was extending an invitation for me to join him for dinner at the Adler residence, but I knew he wasn't asking for my opinion. He might be acting all gentle right now, but as Olivia could use him to put Augustus in check, I knew he was no pushover.
• Shortly after, Kristoff hobbled out of the office with his cane happily, leaving the three of us alone. An awkward silence ensued. Olivia was no longer as furious as before. Instead, she was crossing her arms in a smug manner.
• “Augustus, one day you shall pay for harming me!” Olivia warned him arrogantly.
