Chapter 10 I Will Do Anything
- I bit down on my lip and tugged nervously at the covers as I replied, “I can help clean the place, do the laundry and cook for you... In fact, I can take care of pretty much all the household chores...”
- He raised an eyebrow and let out a chuckle. “I'm sure the housekeepers I've hired can do a much better job than you.”
- “They're doing all that because you pay them, but I'll do anything for free as long as you take me in!” I figured the trouble would die down after about two months, so I decided to stay over until then before looking for a legitimate job elsewhere.
- “You'll do anything?”
- He repeated my words playfully before making his way towards me and lifted the covers off my body. I leaned back out of fear, but that only encouraged him to move closer and get on top of me.
- Before I knew it, my nose was filled with the faint smell of his cologne and his masculine scent as he kissed me on the lips.
- I felt my heart race and tried to push him off, but he was simply too strong and had me helplessly pinned under him. The more I struggled against him, the more intense his kisses became.
- At some point, he began running his hands over my body. Perhaps it was because my fever had yet to subside, but my body felt like it was on fire, and I found myself slowly succumbing to his suffocating assault.
- The moment I gave in completely and let him have his way with me, he stopped himself and tidied the collar of his shirt with a sneer on his face. “Huh, so much for claiming that you would do anything.”
- He then grabbed a paper towel from the nightstand and gently wiped his mouth like he had kissed something disgusting.
- Tears welled up in my eyes and rolled down my cheeks as I struggled to keep myself from wailing uncontrollably.
- Mr. Adler handed me a couple of paper towels before going back to sitting on his couch. His posture looked so graceful and elegant that it felt as if I had imagined everything that he did earlier.
- “You may stay, but it won't be for free. I will have work for you and don't think for a second that I'm any better than that Tiger guy. Who knows, you might even end up regretting your decision to stay.”
- “Really?” I wiped my tears and looked at him excitedly, completely ignoring that last sentence he said as I was overwhelmed by the news that I was allowed to stay.
- “Yeah,” he mumbled a response and finished his wine without saying another word.
- He then stood up and was about to leave when he suddenly remembered something and turned around. “You didn't bring anything with you, right? I'll have the driver take you to the mall to do some shopping tomorrow.”
- “Mr. Adler... I'm really grateful for your help.”
- “Get some rest. Your fever hasn't fully subsided.” He then closed the door and left.
- However, I couldn't sleep after that. I don't know what's going to happen next... Maybe he's right about him not being any better than Tiger, but what other option do I have now?
