Chapter 100 The Dignity of an Insignificant Nobody
- I ran out of Hansel’s place in a panic, worrying that Sandra would force me to stay and practice weightlifting. Oh, my Lord, not any ordinary person is able to practice martial arts. Although I yearned to be a powerful fighter, using martial arts to defeat an opponent was not as easy as what we saw from the TV. It was ridiculous if one thought he or she would be invincible just by mastering a few moves.
- Practicing weightlifting alone was enough to torture me. After one whole day of practice, I couldn’t even feel my arms, and my back hurt as if it was going to break. Not everyone would be able to endure and persist in this suffering.
- I was aware of my ability, so I didn’t intend to learn martial arts in a comprehensive way, nor did I have the wish to become an expert in martial arts. I just wanted to pick up a few moves for self-defense when faced with danger. Most importantly, I wanted to maintain the relationship with Hansel so that I could leverage the power of the martial arts community during critical times.
