Chapter 2 Rithfield Garrison
- Back when Griffin was the Bakers' driver, he was a terrible man. He enjoyed referring to himself as brothers with numerous gangsters and he had a powerful build with a harsh face.
- Later, he immediately took over the Montes Group after learning that Sebastian's parents were forced to death.
- He was now dressed in a floral shirt and suit vest, with a tattoo on his powerful forearm just barely visible beneath the shirt, while acting like a successful man.
- "Uncle Griffin, please give me back my company," Sebastian stated calmly without gazing at the cash on the floor.
- "Are you dumb? Why are you being so stubborn? Did you starve so hard that you rotted your brain?" Griffin was impatient.
- He wore a peculiar smile on his face as he gazed at his large fan-like palm and said, "You piece of trash. Did you forget how I hit you ten years ago?"
- "I did not," Sebastian replied.
- "Lord Parker is not someone you should provoke, pretty boy, so hurry up and leave. He is currently the richest man in Rithfield and powerful on both sides of the law," the woman advised.
- All of a sudden, a group of people barged into the room.
- The people in suits and leather shoes had laptops and a bunch of paperwork in their hands. As soon as they walked in, they immediately turned on their laptops and laid out all the documents on the desk, carefully going over each one.
- Griffin was shocked to see this bunch of people and inquired, "President Xavier, why are you here?"
- "Vice President Leonardo, you're here too?"
- "Montes Group under your mismanagement is struggling and owes five billion in debt. Mr. Baker has spoken with the mayor and he agreed to settle your debts and take over Montes Group," President Xavier explained with a blank look.
- "Huh?" Griffin was perplexed.
- In reality, Griffin lacked any business management expertise. He had relied on loans for years after acquiring the Montes Group from the Bakers since he had spent all the money. Naturally, the community was in favor of Sebastian repaying his debts. Otherwise, the Montes Group will go bankrupt, forcing thousands of people to lose their jobs and negatively impact the economy of Rithfield as a whole.
- Therefore, the presidents of the city's major banks came to evaluate Griffin's loans.
- A grimace became more apparent on Griffin's face.
- "Impossible! Stuart is useless. He's practically nothing without his parents. Hasn't he been begging for food all these years? How will he be able to repay the business' debt? Stop joking, President Xavier. There's no way he can afford the money."
- "Lord Parker, will he really be able to settle the debts?" The attractive woman on the side went uneasy.
- "There's no way he can afford billions in debt! If he can, I'll lick the floor of this office spotless," Griffin snarled.
- "Mr. Baker, the debts of the Montes Group have been counted. Please have a look," President Xavier said as he handed Sebastian a stack of documents.
- "Alright, here's a five billion check," Sebastian responded.
- "Very well. As of today, you are now the owner of Montes Group. You are the person the city head trusts and I hope you can do a great job managing your company," President Xavier stated, nodding.
- Sebastian grasped President Xavier's hand with gratitude. "Thank you."
- "President Parker, you will no longer own the Montes Group from now on. Please leave right away." President Xavier directed his words at Griffin.
- "What the hell is going on!?" Griffin gritted his teeth.
- "This son of a b*tch used to be a useless child of the Bakers, so how could he afford five billion?" Griffin growled as he cast a quick glance at Sebastian before turning to face a number of bank managers while scratching his shaved head in the process.
- "Is this a prank?"
- "President Parker, the past ten years have been wonderful for you. You've enjoyed it a lot and I assume that's why you're not sober from the highs yet. We've been discussing the debts of the Montes Group with you for a while. If you didn't clear up the debts, the company would be managed by someone else. I kept allowing you to loan money because I was worried that Rithfield's top business company would suddenly declare bankruptcy and affect the populace," President Xavier explained.
- "We are all state employees. We don't have a lot of time to prank you."
- "Stuart is dirt poor and it's impossible for him to clear the debts! His check must be a piece of junk paper. Have you verified his check?" questioned Griffin.
- For the past ten years, Griffin had owed a load of money. As such, he would be left with nothing when Sebastian took over the Montes Group.
- He would never be able to take out bank loans to splurge in the future without Montes Group.
- Furious, he was having a hard time to believe that Sebastian was able to come up with the enormous sum of five billion.
- "Motherf*cker, are you forging the check? Are you aware that you're committing fraud?" Griffin looked at Sebastian.
- "You mentioned my mother." Sebastian's gaze became piercing cold.
- From an early age, he had always been wealthy but noble. By the time he turned eighteen, his family had fallen on hard times. He had gone through hell and the rollercoaster of life, so nothing could faze him anymore.
- Unless his parents were mentioned…
- And this was not the first time it happened today.
- "So what if I mentioned your mother, jerkwad? You're a piece of useless trash, do you know that? Do you really think you're someone who can take out five billion to save this company?" Griffin cried out.
- The several presidents all had troubled eyes as Sebastian remained silent.
- "Now get the f*ck out! I own this company!" Griffin continued to yell at Sebastian.
- At that moment, Sebastian gripped the tip of Griffin's index finger.
- "What are you doing?" Griffin's expression changed.
- With a slight twist, his index finger and entire arm made a crisp cracking sound and they twisted like hem ropes.
- In an instant, Griffin's muscles and bones were torn.
- "Ahhhhh!" Griffin let out an agonizing yelp and collapsed to the ground, sobbing.
- He was rolling about on the ground while holding his paralysed arm; it hurt so bad that he could scarcely breathe.
- On the other hand, the woman standing on the side was shocked to the core.
- The bank presidents were silent as well.
- Sebastian approached the desk with an expressionless face and delicately brushed the polished tabletop with his fingers.
- Did he successfully avenge on behalf of his parents?
- Ten years of anticipation had led up to this moment.
- Finally, Sebastian had reclaimed the business that his parents had labored so arduously to establish.
- Griffin was still on the ground, gripping his broken arm in agony before he exclaimed, "Call the police! Hurry up! This b*tch dared to break my arm! He harmed me and he must be arrested!"
- "Okay…" The woman's face was as pale as a sheet and she slowly approached Sebastian and lifted up the phone.
- "There's no need for that." Sebastian gently held down the phone.
- "What are you doing?!" the woman screamed, out of dread for Sebastian.
- Patiently, Sebastian pulled out a document from his coat and placed it lightly on the table. "If you call the police, you will be calling me. I am the chief of the highest law enforcement department in Rithfield."
- "My name is Sebastian Baker and I am the commander-in-chief of Rithfield Garrison, the major general."
