Chapter 11 The Gathering of the Evanses
- After discussing with Noah, she went to withdraw twenty million in cash while Sebastian was debating whether to visit the Rithfield Garrison.
- As he was walking toward the elevator, he saw Grayson and Dustin, who was carrying two bags in his hands.
- The two were shocked to see Sebastian.
- "You little rascal. How did you get into the president's office? Looks like you have some tricks up your sleeve, huh." Dustin looked at Sebastian in disbelief.
- "How on earth did he get in?" Grayson was perplexed.
- Being the head of security for Montes Group, he had just barred Sebastian from the premise this morning, so he could not fathom how he slipped in.
- "President Sydney wasn't here the whole morning. Since she just came back, he might have been stealing inside while she was away." Dustin observed Sebastian with suspicious eyes.
- "Morons."
- Not wanting to bother himself with them, Sebastian sneered before continuing on his way.
- Now that he knew about the relationship Dustin's family had with Griffin, which was that they were not subordinates of Griffin, he would still place them by his side if they contributed to the growth of the company and did not act up.
- Since Grayson was not one of Griffin's men either, he still chose to employ him even though Grayson insulted him that morning.
- Yet, he was thoroughly disappointed in these two now. Dustin kept offending him, displaying his less than desirable personality while Grayson was just brainless. I won't keep these kinds of people by my side.
- Sebastian had decided to tell Noah to break off the collaboration with the Smiths and remove Grayson as the manager of security.
- "You b*stard, what did you just say?" Grayson, who was enraged, walked toward Sebastian and grabbed him by his shirt collar.
- Even though Sebastian did not offend Dustin in any way, he kept wanting to cause trouble for Sebastian as Dustin smiled after seeing that Sebastian had offended the manager of Montes Group.
- "Haha. This idiot dares to fight back now. Not only did you insult me, you even dared to insult Mr. Spade. Mr. Spade, he entered the company without your permission. He must be here to steal. Quick, call security and hand him over to the police!"
- With the intention to attract more trouble toward Sebastian, Dustin knowingly stood by the sideline while inciting the situation even further.
- "Are you done yet?" Sebastian was angry at this point.
- "I'm not. What are you going to do about it?" Dustin replied with a disgusting expression.
- "You're coming with me, b*stard!" Grayson grabbed onto Sebastian's collar tightly.
- Glancing at him, Sebastian lightly pried on Grayson's fingers and released his grip on him.
- Grayson, who did not think that Sebastian knew how to grapple, was shocked before he struck his attack again. With a stoic face, Sebastian stopped his assault with one hand and kicked his leg with ease.
- With that, Grayson was flung to the side.
- Then, he walked up to Dustin and snatched the gifts that he had prepared for Noah before unwinding the window and tossing them all down.
- "How could you just throw these presents I prepared for President Sydney out the window! Those were the full-set lipsticks from Chanel! They cost upwards of a hundred thousand!" Dustin shouted.
- However, Sebastian remained wordless as he entered the elevator.
- For the whole afternoon, Sebastian stayed in the office of the garrison.
- Soviani stated that such a high law enforcement was pretty much useless as most things could be solved by the cops.
- At night, he received a call from Wyatt.
- He informed Sebastian that it was Sandy's birthday the day after tomorrow. Since Alexis and her husband, Rickon, had returned, Wyatt wanted to invite him for dinner as he still thought of him as family.
- Ever since Sebastian's parents passed away, he did not have any relatives in this world anymore, so he respected Wyatt like his father and loved Sandy like his future wife. Getting off work early, he headed straight to the Evans Residence.
- Upon arrival, he saw Alexis and Rickon had just entered the house; in attendance at the birthday banquet were Wyatt, Charlotte, Sandy and Mandy.
- With the whole family in one gathering, they appeared to be very harmonious.
- "Is he my future brother-in-law, the one whose family went bankrupt? You're Stuart, right?" After a while, Rickon suddenly shifted his attention to Sebastian.
- He sat on the couch, sporting a branded suit.
- "Hello." Sebastian nodded his head politely.
- "It'll be Sandy's birthday in two days. What gifts have you prepared?" Rickon asked loudly without a care.
- "It's nothing grand," replied Sebastian.
- "Haha. Sandy's a beautiful woman. Even if the Evanses aren't like before, they are still a reputable family. On her birthday, there will be a lot of influential figures present too besides us. Don't shame her by giving something cheap, yeah?" Rickon stated.
- By then, Sandy had already changed into a long dress that accentuated her slim figure. Paired with her looks and dainty white socks, she looked astonishingly gentle, making one want to protect her.
- She was the prettiest daughter of the Evans Family where even Rickon, who had married Alexis, desired her. His regret was that Sandy did not want to marry yet at that time. It would have been great if I married Sandy instead.
- On the other hand, seeing Sebastian again awakened another kind of feeling in Alexis.
- Being the same age as him, she could have been the one who got engaged with him back then. However, Wyatt betrothed his favorite daughter, who was Sandy, to the then influential Baker Family, which upsetted Alexis even till now. This was especially because Sebastian was a very handsome man and she maintained her feelings for him although his family had fallen from grace.
- For Sebastian, she bore a flurry of emotions; it contained love, envy, and even hatred.
- Watching Sebastian mocked by Rickon made her feel a sense of satisfaction. Yet, she somehow wanted him even more upon seeing the aura of a fallen noble on Sebastian.
- In fact, she did not love Rickon, for she only married him for money. On the other hand, Rickon had not touched her for four years. Thus, she had grown tired of this drab and meaningless marriage.
- "Do you see what this is?" Rickon could not wait to show his gift for Sandy.
- It was an exquisite jade pendant.
- "This pendant is worth more than a hundred thousand. This is something you can't afford even with half of your life's savings!" Rickon openly mocked him.
- "It's quite nice." Sebastian smiled.
- On the same afternoon, Noah had already gone to the bank to withdraw twenty million cash, which would be gifted to Sandy at her birthday party.
- I'll look forward to that look on your face then, Rickon.
- "The Evanses really have fallen now. Even a trash like him dares to marry my sister-in-law." Rickon lit a cigarette and looked at Sebastian with disdain.
- "How could you talk to Stuart like that, Rickon?" Sandy rebuked unhappily.
- "You haven't even tied the knot, yet here you are, standing up for your husband."
- To Rickon, it would not be a bad news either if Sandy found herself an incompetent husband. It's only by finding such trash do I have a chance with Sandy. If she finds someone from a prominent family, I don't think I would dare to do anything.
- "I will not allow you to speak of him like this," Sandy warned.
- "Okay, I'll stop now and protect this trash along with you." Rickon smirked.
- The sight of Sebastian getting mocked by Rickon still consistently made Alexis joyful. This is what happens when you're penniless, Stuart. You can't even protect the woman you love.
- If he really has the luck to marry Sandy one day, perhaps I'll consider presenting him with a chance at life if he can just show me how pathetic he can get…
