Chapter 37

• Rylee came out of the bathroom, smoothing her dress down and pushed past me, not even noticing me as she stumbled past. I could smell the alcohol on her and I grabbed her arm just as the man stumbled out of the bathroom and I lost it.
• I let go of her and lunged myself at the man, hitting him in the face. He went down and didn’t even put up a fight as I hit him again and again. When he was unconscious, I was satisfied and stood up and Rylee just stood there looking at me, swaying on her feet.
• I grabbed her arm and pulled her along, through the throng of people on the dance floor and to the outside where Max stood waiting by his car. I strapped her into the front seat of my car and turned towards Max.
