Chapter 3 The Authenticity Of The Marriage Certificate

  • Carol, who was usually reserved and conservative, felt incredibly embarrassed. Today, she had surpassed all limits and lost all dignity.
  • Realizing that she still had the towel in her hand, Carol handed it to him in a fluster, her face turning red with embarrassment. "S-sorry, I didn't mean to."
  • Oh no!
  • She felt like an intrusive peeping tom!
  • Jayden calmly picked up a bathrobe and put it on. The belt tightened around his muscular waist, and the black bathrobe emitted a refreshing, cold, and noble aura.
  • He turned and walked out of the bathroom. Carol followed behind with her head lowered and her injured leg, gazing at the straight figure in front of her. It felt as though she was still dreaming.
  • After they left, she stood there awkwardly.
  • "Come here," Jayden said, walking to the sofa with a first aid kit.
  • Carol tiptoed over and sat on the chair. Jayden opened the first aid kit, his gaze unconsciously furrowing at the sight of Carol's tight pants.
  • He turned around to fetch a pair of scissors.
  • Carol froze. "What are you going to do?"
  • Could it be that because she saw his private parts, he was going to cut her off or something?
  • There was a tearing sound as the scissors neatly cut her pants.
  • Since the wound was near the top, the cut extended to the base of her leg. Her pants barely covered the floral-patterned underwear.
  • Carol's face suddenly turned red, and she exclaimed nervously, "Hey, wait a minute!"
  • Jayden pressed his large hand against her knee. "Don't move."
  • "I won't."
  • Holding the scissors, Carol was afraid that he might accidentally stab her with them. Of course, she didn't dare to move recklessly. She sat stiffly, letting him take care of her wound.
  • She accidentally saw his private parts, and now he was looking at her legs. Now they were even, and neither owed the other anything.
  • Carol's legs were fair and slender, but there was a long cut near the base of her leg that was continuously oozing blood. The situation did not look optimistic.
  • The distance between them was very close now, and Carol couldn't help but glance at Jayden.
  • She had just seen the photo on the marriage certificate. Bianca had used Photoshop to combine their pictures, making them look quite realistic.
  • The photo captured only a fraction of his attractiveness. From Carol's perspective, his straight and high nose, deep features—each part seemed like a meticulous masterpiece from God.
  • The driver was quite handsome.
  • Jayden took out several cotton swabs, dipped them in disinfectant iodine, then held her knee and wiped the wound.
  • The sharp sting almost made Carol jump. She suspected that Jayden was doing it on purpose.
  • "Ouch, it hurts ... Ugh, be gentle!" Carol cried out in pain.
  • After a series of treatments, tears welled up in Carol's eyes. She endured the urge to cry, her face pale and pitiful.
  • "It might hurt a bit. Endure it."
  • Carol clenched her fists, gritted her teeth, and endured the pain.
  • After a moment, the wound was treated, and Jayden packed everything. He said, "Done. Don't let the wound touch water for the next few days."
  • "Thank ... thank you."
  • "Let's talk." The man suddenly dropped a remark.
  • "Talk about what?" Carol looked at him in surprise.
  • Could it be that he's asking her for compensation?
  • Her mother was hospitalized and required a substantial amount for medical expenses. Living alone, she usually lived frugally, and all her money went towards paying medical bills. She had no money at all.
  • No money, but she had her life!
  • Looking at Carol's eyes filled with confusion, Jayden crossed his arms. He said calmly, "Now that we have registered, we are legally married."
  • We have registered ... legally married ...
  • Carol felt like her head was spinning.
  • Wait ... Wasn't her marriage certificate with him fake? Bianca had arranged that fake certificate for her, and she said it wouldn't be recorded in the marriage system!
  • Jayden's deep eyes darkened.
  • He understood that Bianca's purpose in doing this was to help him.
  • His father, dissatisfied with his grandfather's control, had run to the Nexoria branch to escape. Now, the disappointed grandfather had shifted his focus to him.
  • At that moment, he had already decided to go along with the mistake, find a woman to take his wife's place, and prevent his grandfather from plotting again.
  • Bianca's best friend should be fine.
  • Jayden continued assertively, "Since you have become my wife, we need to establish some ground rules."
  • "Wait a minute ... " Carol interrupted him, her face confused. She asked, "Our marriage certificate is fake, right?"
  • "Who told you it's fake?"
