Chapter 5 He Is Back Again
- ALESSIA'S POV
- He was back again.
- He was back again while I was still struggling to get him out of my fucking mind.
- I left the hospital early because of that incident earlier.
- Maybe whatever happened was because I haven't slept for a long time, due to how hectic my job was.
- I didn't even have the opportunity to cry my eyes out after the betrayal from my ex-fiance and my supposed best friend.
- After the ordeal with the devil, I scurried out of the club with the hope of going home to get some rest.
- My head was banging and my eyes were blurry, but unfortunately, I was called for an emergency surgery.
- I ended up having just an hour of sleep at the worker's lodge.
- This week has been an hectic one and after the incident of not being able to get the devil off my mind, I asked for permission to go home.
- I turned off my phone so I won't be called back for any emergency surgery again.
- Upon getting home, I took a shower and headed towards the kitchen to fix myself something to eat.
- I was still cooking when I noticed something unusual.
- I felt the hair at the back of my neck stand, and couldn't shake off the feeling.
- Stopping what I was doing, I turned around, looking sharply at every nook and cranny of my apartment.
- I searched everywhere, but didn't find anything unusual.
- I exhaled in relief and ate dinner before heading towards my room to get a goodnight rest, hoping I could get everything off my mind.
- Upon getting to my room, I noticed the light was turned off, causing a frown to appear on my face.
- “ Wasn't it on when I came in?” I muttered, walking fully into the room, trying to locate the switch.
- I wasn't with my phone, so it was hard to locate the switch, not when I felt my nerve cracking and the hair at the back of my neck standing, once more, like earlier.
- ‘ What is happening again?’ I muttered, fear creeping into my skin.
- Before I could locate the switch, I was able to come across my pepper spray.
- I grabbed it with both hands, ready to spray everything on the stranger who dared break into my apartment.
- “ Who are you? Come out now!”
- I said, trying so hard to sound courageous, but I knew deep within me that I was melting in fear.
- What if it is a man?
- What if he is trying to rape me?
- What if he was sent by Rachel?
- Different thoughts flew into my mind, but I took a deep breath, steadying my breath, so as to shove away every negative thought.
- “ Come out now!” I raised my voice once more, holding the handle of the pepper spray.
- I knew someone was hiding in a dark corner inside my room, but I couldn't see even a thing.
- “ Here I am, Bunny. Did you miss me?” A deep dark voice came from a dark corner.
- The name Bunny sounded awfully familiar, but I couldn't come in terms with the fact that the person I was thinking about was the same person who broke into my apartment.
- He wouldn't go to such lengths.
- We have no connection, since he didn't know me and I didn't know him either.
- I shook my head, trying to get him out of my head.
- ‘ He isn't the same person.’ My subconscious mind said to me.
- I kept believing that he wasn't the same person, until the light turned on, and the person in the dark corner stepped out.
- A gasp escaped my lips, and that was when it dawned on me that I was doomed.
- He went out of his way to find me and even stalked me.
- “ You….you..you!” My voice failed me, as my eyes widened in shock.
- I took a step back as my waist couldn't hold my weight any longer, so I fell heavily on my butt.
- Was I cursed or something?
- Why was misfortune chasing me?
- I got betrayed less than two days ago, and that same day, I came across the devil, and now, he was clinging onto me, changing my normal life into an abnormal one.
- “ Why do you look so shocked? I bet you weren't expecting to see me.” A dark smirk graced his lips.
- These were the longest words he has ever spoken to me, but I was too shocked to even think about that.
