• In her frustration, Ashley cut him off. She'd had enough of these brothers lecturing her about what she should or shouldn't do! They barely knew her! Trying to evict Ferry from her room, she grabbed his arm; predictably, he didn't budge, no matter how hard she tugged. Why did these demons have to be so unbearably firm? Unexpectedly, the arm she was pulling became a brace around her back as Ferry pulled her into his arms. He held her tight, and it wasn't until her heartbeat calmed down that she realized how agitated she'd been. Her feet were ominously weak, about to buckle. Was her emotional tumult so intense that it caused such a physical reaction?
