Chapter 13 An Eccentric Security Guard

• Jonathan didn't mean what he said and only wanted to tease Jessica. Being flirtatious with a gorgeous lady was a pleasure to any man. Just then, he slid both his hands inside his pockets.
• His actions looked as though he was going to take off his pants in front of them.
• Jessica was taken aback and hollered, “What on earth are you doing? You pervert! What an oddball you are!”
• She was about to lose her mind and felt that the world had gone crazy. At the same time, she wondered in distress where this guy came from.
• After Jonathan saw her huge reaction, he took out his ID card from his pocket and said, “I'm showing you my ID card. What do you think I was going to do? You thought I was going to take off my pants, didn't you? Oh lord, I didn't take you to be so dirty-minded. But I like it!”
• Yasmin was normally very ladylike. However, she wasn't able to hold in her laughter. She laughed so hard that tears started rolling down her cheeks.
• “Hahaha! Jessica, you're so dirty-minded. He is just taking out his ID card,” Yasmin said.
• In an instant, Jessica's face flushed with embarrassment. Just then, she realized that Jonathan was wearing the security guard uniform of their company. “You are a newly appointed security guard, aren't you?” she asked.
• Jonathan chuckled. “Yes. It's my first day here today.”
• “What are you doing here?” Jessica asked sternly.
• He realized that she couldn't take a joke and replied, “I'm doing a safety inspection.”
• His reply sounded serious as he put on a somber expression.
• “Ok. You don't have to come to work tomorrow. Go to the finance department and get a month's worth of salary. Get out of here immediately,” Jessica said briskly.
• Geez! Jessica's words took Jonathan by surprise. He thought to himself, What a generous lady. I can't believe she's willing to pay me a month's worth of salary when I've only worked for two hours. Too bad I'm not here to earn money but to protect Yasmin. I can't leave.
• A thought flashed through his mind instantly. He turned to Yasmin and said, “CEO, you must be very kind-hearted since you're pretty. I recently changed my job from being a soldier and gave all my savings to my family. I didn't dare to tell them that I was leaving the army. Please don't fire me. It wasn't easy for me to get this job. I promise to work hard in the future.”
• Jonathan believed that Yasmin was soft-hearted and aimed at it.
• As expected, Yasmin responded, “I see.” Then, she turned to face Jessica and said, “Jessica, I'm sure he was just messing with you. Let it go.”
• Although Jessica looked austere, however, she wasn't an unreasonable person. “Don't let me catch you again, you pervert!” she warned.
• Jonathan immediately left after that.
• That was the first thing that he did. Soon after, words of this incident got spread out quickly and became the subject of everyone's gossip.
• Jonathan instantly became infamous for being flirtatious.
• The second incident was about a PR executive of the company named Jossie Perez. She was a 28-year-old pretty lady. With a black tight-fitted dress on, this woman looked suggestive.
• She looked like the type of woman that made men go crazy and beg for a fling but would not make her their wife.
• That was the impression that Jossie gave off.
• Not to mention, there were even rumors going around about how she slept with a customer.
• Therefore, everyone liked to talk about her behind her back.
• After lunch, in the security office, the security guards were all bored and started to gossip about Jossie again.
• Everyone joined in on the gossip and gave harsh comments about her without feeling guilty.
• Jonathan was new and wanted to blend in with everyone else. Thus, he joined in and talked about how Jossie had a perky butt and how amazing it would feel when touching it.
• The crowd fell silent right after he said that.
• Jonathan felt it was odd how quiet they had become. Just a second ago, they were talking about unpleasant things about her. He felt what he said was mild as compared to them.
• All of a sudden, he felt something was wrong. He turned around and found Jossie standing right behind him. All she wanted was just to get a parcel from the security office. She didn't expect to overhear something vulgar like that. Jonathan's words angered her, and she looked as though she was ready to fight.
• The sight of Jossie left Jonathan flabbergasted. All he wanted to do then was to hide.
• Despite her anger, Jossie didn't make a scene out of it. She only gave Jonathan a cold-eyed stare and walked off.
• Everyone could sense that Jossie must have resented Jonathan.
• The third incident was even more baffling.
• Jonathan was very well-behaved this time round and was cleaning the security office.
• Just then, the team leader of the Apparel Coordination Department came looking for him furiously.
• Unfortunately, the team leader turned out to be Jennifer.
• She asked Jonathan what he wanted from her in front of all the security guards right after she stormed into the room.
• Jonathan was bewildered when he saw Jennifer. He couldn't believe how coincidental all this was.
• “Nothing,” he said innocently.
• Jennifer exploded, “I can't believe you are tailing me! I was wrong about you.”
• “I wasn't tailing you!” Jonathan wanted to tell her that this was a pure coincidence. However, even he couldn't believe his own words.
• Jennifer told Jonathan to resign and leave the place immediately.
• However, this would never happen. Jonathan hadn't planned to leave the company any time soon.
• With no reaction from Jonathan, she fumed, “All right. I'm leaving since you're not!”
• Then, she went to see Yasmin to talk about her resignation.
• To clear up the confusion, Yasmin asked to see Jonathan too.
• The latter felt wronged. All he ever wanted was to work quietly as a security guard with no trouble. He didn't think it would be difficult to achieve such a small wish.
• In front of Yasmin, he swore that he wasn't there for Jennifer. It was all a coincidence. Then, he turned to Jennifer and said in frustration, “You are so ungrateful, Jennifer. You wouldn't be alive if it weren't for me. It wasn't easy for me to find a job. Yet, you're getting in my way.”
• “There are so many security guard positions out there. Why must you work here out of all the companies?” she argued.
• With his glib tongue, Jonathan said, “That's true. But now, I can't leave. Because if I do, it will show that I'm guilty. All right. I promise that I will not bother you in any way. If I did, I'd get sacked immediately, and I won't receive a single penny. What do you say?”
• Unable to refute his words, Jennifer went silent.
• With that, this crisis was over.
• However, after everything that had happened, Jonathan became known as the star security guard of Rose Couture for being eccentric.
