Chapter 4 An Evening With The Girls Ii

• (AN EVENING WITH HER GIRLS 2)
• "Girls!!" She suddenly screamed making others to stop right in their tracks, panting.
• They saw how upset their friend looked and without anyone telling them what to do, they quickly cleaned up and living room and tidied it just the way it was before it was messed up.
• Sky was naturally neat and detested seeing her things messed up.
• When they were done, they stood in front of Skylar like innocent school girls.
• "Olivia started it first." Jasmine started to defend herself.
• Olivia cocked her eyebrows before glaring accusingly at Mia.
• "Mia, you caused it, you were the first to throw pillows at me."
• Mia spoke up, wanting to defend herself too.
• "Well... that's because you teased me" Olivia argued.
• "I didn't..." Mia tried to argue too but she was interrupted by a loud bang on the table.
• That was Sky. Seeing her friends arguing only aggravated her headache.
• "We are sorry." They chorused as they dramatically bowed to Sky.
• Sky folded her arms and ignoring their apologies, she asked,
• "What do you want to eat?"
• "Vegetables," Jasmine responded. Since she was a top model, she had to maintain her slim and perfect figure.
• "Pasta and beef." Mia shouted.
• "Mmmm, all I want is pasta, rice and fruit salad. I will not mind some desserts alongside them." Olivia said, counting her fingers.
• Sky opened her eyes widely at Olivia's request.
• "Why don't you just empty my kitchen?" She said with sarcasm as she placed her hands on her nicely curved waist.
• Olivia pouted and gave Sky an irresistible baby look. Sky sighed and nodded her head, wringing her hands in defeat. "But you girls shouldn't expect me to cook all these foods all by myself." She said in a tone that sounded more like a command than a request.
• "Of course not,we all are doing the cooking together." Mia and Jasmine responded her enthusiastically. They all turned to look at Olivia who had a slight frown on her face. They all knew how much she hated kitchen duties.
• "I..." She responded hesitantly. It is obvious that she doesn't want to cook.
• Sky decided to tease her.
• "Well, it is not a big deal. Anyone who doesn't join in the cooking won't partake in the eating." She said in a tone of finality.
• "Alright, alright, I will come" Olivia reluctantly said.
• "Lazy ass," Mia teased her and dragged her along to the kitchen.
• Within the next twenty minutes, the girls were busy with their cooking except Olivia who was trying to sneak out of the kitchen to the sitting room without being noticed. She found the cooking processes boring and tiresome.
• "Where is the salt cellar?" Mia turned to ask Skylar.
• "There," Sky pointed to a corner of kitchen's cabinet.
• Mia was about to pick up the container when she noticed a sparkling, diamond bracelet on Jasmine's wrist.
• "Yo! I love this bracelet. When did you produce it?" She inquired with a tone of admiration.
• Sky walked towards them and looked at Jasmine's bracelet and caressed it admiringly.
• "I love it too. This one is a wow. This bracelet is exquisite and exceptional" Sky giggled, not taking her eyes off the bracelet.
• "For real," Mia nodded in agreement with Sky's observation.
• Jasmine blushed as her friends praise her handwork.
• "I made it a week ago. It took me two weeks to fix it. The assembling of the diamonds on it was kinda stressful." Jasmine slightly tilted her head in a deep thought before speaking up.
• "I guess I have some jewels left for the making of this bracelet. I will make an exact replica of this for you girls" She promised.
• Sky and Mia squealed in excitement "Really?"
• Jasmine nodded in affirmative.
• "Thanks darling." They giggled.
• "Wait girls, where on earth is Olivia?" Mia asked, looking around the kitchen for her.
• Sky cocked her eyebrows and smiled in amusement. "She must have sneaked out without our knowledge. You know how much she hates cooking"
• True to Sky's words, Olivia had used the opportunity of the other girls' deep interest in Jasmine's bracelet to sneak out of the kitchen.
• "What the hell did she think she is doing?" Mia blurted in anger, ready to go out and scold Olivia.
• Sky restrained her "Chill, it is not up to this." She pleaded with her.
• "And why will she sneak out when she knows that this is a collective work. She is the one who wanted most of what we are cooking. If she can't cook, she could have stayed to help with one or two things" Mia said in a upset tone.
• "We aren't fools to cook what she wants." Jasmine added, also upset.
• "Come on girls, it is her nature and we can't help it. She dislikes kitchen duties and we are all aware of that. Let's just let it slide. I will do most of the cooking." Sky pleaded with her angry friends.
• They calmed down a little, still seething in anger. The rest of the cooking continued in silence.
• Soon, the dinner was ready and all the foods and cutlery were placed on the dining table.
• "Dinner is served" Sky announced.
• Olivia who was in the living room watching TV and savouring a cup of ice cream stood up in excitement and unconsciously knocked down her already empty cup of ice cream. She ran to the dinning room and sat down, ready to eat.
• Mia looked at her in displeasure.
• "To be honest with you Olivia, I find this eating habit of yours very annoying. We all agreed to prepare the foods together but you sneaked out of the kitchen to enjoy a cup of ice cream. Now you are the first to get to the dinning room."
• Olivia kept silent as Mia scolded her.
• Jasmine smirked and turned to Mia.
• "Leave her, she must have thought that the rest of us are fools, cooking while she is greedily licking a cup of ice cream." She said, also annoyed with Olivia.
• Olivia who was also getting upset spoke up.
• "Why are you all ranting at me? Is this a conspiracy or what? I hate cooking and y'all know that. So what's the fuss all about?"
• Mia hissed in anger and heated up too.
• "Really? we all know that cooking is not your thing but at least, you could have helped us with one or two things than sneaking out. Seriously Olivia, can't you maintain some sense of dignity and stop eating embarrassingly.
• You are a medical doctor and you know the implications of eating too much of foods. You will get obesity in no time." Mia said, straight-pointedly.
• There was a high tension in the room. Sky noticed this and tried to ease the tension.
• "Come on girls,we should not quarrel over this trivial issue. We shouldn't spoil this cool evening with something like this" She tried to persuade her friends.
• Olivia shifted uncomfortably in her seat as she watched Mia and Jasmine scold her. Seeing her friends scold her made her tongue-tied.
• She bowed her head in guilt and apologized to her friends.
• "I am sorry" She apologized in a guilt laden voice, bringing Mia and Jasmine out of their world of anger.
• Mia felt stupid and annoyed with herself for overreacting. Though all she felt for was concern for Olivia, she knew she shouldn't have talked to her in that manner, after all they are friends and they were aware of each other's strengths and weaknesses. She felt guilty and bad for her overreaction.
• She impulsively held Olivia's hands which were across the table and smiled.
• "You don't have to be sorry Olivia, I am the one who overreacted. I am sorry for my choice of words." She apologized sincerely, regretting her outburst of anger.
• "I am also sorry" Jasmine also apologized, feeling guilty.
• Peace returned to the table again and their loud chatter could be heard in the dinning room as they ate.
• "Hey babe," Sky smiled as soon as she picked an incoming call from her phone.
• "I am so sorry love. I did not call you since morning. I had a series of meetings with the shareholders at the company today. I had to squeeze out time just to hear your sweet voice." A masculine voice was heard at the other end of the phone.
• Skylar smiled as she spoke to her boyfriend, Brian Coker, the CEO of Lilyrose company limited.
• "That must have been so stressful for you. Take a break and eat dinner, okay?" She spoke softly.
• "Mmmm,I will. I can hear some voices in the background. Are your friends with you?" Brian asked.
• "Yeah, they are" Sky replied, winking at her friends.
• "My regards to them. I have to go now Sky. I am so stressed out. I promise to keep you company tomorrow. Don't over thought okay? I will always be there for you." Brian said in a sleepy voice.
• "I know right? Sweet dreams" Sky sweetly said.
• "Goodnight baby, sleep tight" Brian replied and hung up.
• Mia rolled her eyes as she watched Sky speak sweetly to Brian. Since she didn't believe in love, to her, relationships were a complete waste of time.
• "Is that Brian?" Olivia asked.
• "Yeah" Sky replied.
• "I am so happy to hear his voice" Sky said as she fanned herself with her hands dreamily. She was over heels in love with Brian. It was obvious.
• "Whatever" Mia scoffed.
• The other girls understood her reaction and began to tease her.
• "You don't know how sweet love is. My Richard is the best man ever." Jasmine teased.
• "Nah, it's my Andrew" Olivia countered, defending her boyfriend.
• "It's definitely my Brian" Skylar joined the argument.
• "I don't care how sweet that annoying thing is" Mia said with a smirk.
• Sky shook her head and smiled.
• "Just wait until you fall in love. You will understand how beautiful it is"
• Mia laughed for a while before replying,
• "The day I admit that I have fallen in love, you girls can chop off my ears."
• "Seriously, I promise to remind you on that day and I will gladly chop your ears off." Olivia said, amidst laugher.
• The evening was spent by the girls by playing games and watching movies.
• Sky's friends all did their best to make their grieving friend happy and put her ugly past behind her. They also got themselves busy by making preparations towards Jasmine's birthday. It was all fun for Sky and she was grateful that her best friends came visiting and brightened her mood.
• When it was exactly 10pm, Sky's friends bade her good bye and drove off in their cars. It was truly an eventful and fun-filled day for Skylar and her friends.
