Chapter 7 A Werewolf In The Bar
- This is the scent of a werewolf! Why are there other werewolves in this bar?
- Eric immediately grew wary at the thought of that.
- Back then, he had chosen to stay in Fairlake because there were no signs of dark creatures like werewolves and vampires there.
- However, there was now a werewolf hiding in this bar.
- Could Thomas have brought this werewolf here?
- With that in mind, Eric remained on high alert and glanced about in an attempt to spot the werewolf that was hiding in the crowd.
- Theresa thought Eric was scared when she saw him glancing about. “You're so useless! Sometimes, I question if you're even a man! Just look at Victor! You're lower than a dog when compared to him!” she said disdainfully.
- Victor felt gleeful when he heard that and straightened up his posture slightly.
- Eric simply shot Theresa a helpless glance and kept quiet.
- If it were any other werewolf, they would surely be infuriated if someone were to call them lower than dogs, but Eric did not.
- He had long since gotten used to it.
- Victor walked up to the bar and greeted the bartender as usual. “Hey, man! Do you remember me?”
- “You're a frequent customer, Mr. Victor! There's no way I'd forget you!” replied the bartender with a smile.
- Victor chatted a little with the bartender before getting to the point. “Was there a fight here lately that resulted in a girl being detained? You see, she's my sister. Could you tell me who she offended?”
- The bartender shot Victor a strange look after hearing that.
- Feeling a little awkward, Victor asked, “What's wrong?”
- “Oh, it's nothing!” The bartender's lips curled into a sly smile as he continued, “I'm just surprised that pretty girl turned out to be your sister, Mr. Victor. She sure was a brave one! I mean, she smashed a glass bottle on the head of Wolfe Group's CEO's son!”
- Victor lost his cool and exclaimed in shock, “Wolfe?”
- If Wolfe Group was merely a huge enterprise in the corporate world, then Victor would have nothing to fear. After all, even the wealthiest of companies were still bound by the laws of the country.
- However, Wolfe Group was owned by the Wolfe family, which ran one of the largest gangs in the country.
- On top of that, it was also recognized as the most vicious and brutal gang of them all.
- Naturally, gangsters like these could not be reasoned with. One would have to be extremely powerful just to gain the right to hold a conversation with them.
- Victor, who was from the Carnap family, clearly lacked that kind of power. In fact, even if all the families in Fairlake were to join forces, they would still not be qualified to even speak to Wolfe Group.
- That was why Victor panicked so much after hearing that the heir of Wolfe Group was involved.
- He instantly regretted agreeing to help Serena out.
- Had Victor known that he would be facing a Wolfe, he never would have shown up in the first place.
- Victor swallowed nervously and asked, “What is someone from Wolfe Group doing here? Is he a poser?”
- “Who knows? Maybe the family sent him here for training or something. Besides, the heirs from the George family, the Ganna family, and the Wilkerson family are all here with him, so I doubt he's a poser,” the bartender replied with an amused smile.
- Victor swallowed hard when he heard those family names. He knew that he could never even afford to suck up to those families, let alone offend them.
- After ending his conversation with the bartender, Victor made his way back to Theresa and the others with a somewhat dejected look on his face. Theresa grabbed him by the arm and asked, “Well? How'd it go, Victor? Did you manage to resolve the issue?”
- Having been snapped out of his dazed state, Victor nodded at her and replied, “Yeah, I've taken care of it. You guys just have to head up to the private room on the second floor and tell them what you came for.”
- He then started walking toward the bar's entrance as he continued, “I still have some business to attend to, so I'll be on my way now.”
- As much as he wanted to sleep with Serena, he valued his life even more.
- These people aren't going to survive the night if they offend the heir of the Wolfe family. I'd better get out of here before that happens!
- With that in mind, Victor took off while Theresa stared at him in confusion. “Why did he leave in such a hurry? Isn't he supposed to have dinner with Serena?”
- Eric realized something was off when he noticed the way the bartender was looking at them.
- Serena let out a sigh and said, “Never mind that! Victor said he has taken care of things, so let's just get Vivian out of here!”
- Theresa shot Eric a disdainful glare as she made her way up to the second floor. “I knew Victor would be able to help us out! We wouldn't even be able to get out of this mess if it weren't for him! If only you were half as capable as Victor, you useless piece of trash!”
- Eric remained silent, but the look on his face grew increasingly solemn as he followed the two upstairs. Upon arriving outside the private room on the second floor, he noticed a strong scent coming from inside.
- The werewolf is in that room!
