Chapter 4 Mistaken Identity Of Two Adorable Children

  • Nora had no choice but to seek help from her son.
  • While her two kids were playing in a nearby mall, she had come to attend the charity banquet.
  • "Mommy, what's wrong?" On the other end of the phone, Hudson's soft voice sounded remarkably dependable.
  • Nora couldn't explain the situation in detail as she was worried that Jordan might return at any given moment.
  • "We'll talk when we get back home. I'm trapped. Check my location and figure out a way to save me as fast as possible!"
  • When her call for help succeeded, Nora added, "Be careful, sweetie."
  • "Okay, Mommy. Wait for me."
  • Hudson held Julia's hand as they left the mall. Following their mom's location, they found themselves in front of the Dawsons Hotel.
  • Outside the grand entrance, they observed the surroundings with wide eyes.
  • "Hudson, they have strict security here. Which floor is Mommy on?"
  • "She's on the top floor. Level 27th."
  • The siblings tilted their heads back and gazed at the towering building. They exchanged glances and sighed.
  • "Mommy is in danger. We need to hurry."
  • Hudson spoke earnestly, "Let's split up. Julia, you charm your way in and access the hotel's wifi with the tablet. I'll then hack into their system through the network."
  • "Got it."
  • Julia dressed in a pink outfit and a ponytail that swayed with her every step. She approached the front desk with a youthful energy.
  • She stood on her tiptoes to reach the counter, and revealed a pair of bright, round eyes that twinkled, along with a smile that formed a crescent on her lips.
  • "Miss, can you help me connect to the internet? I would like to watch some cartoons."
  • The receptionist couldn't resist the adorable plea from this young girl. Her heart melted immediately as she agreed to help.
  • Shortly after, Julia dashed back when she completed her mission.
  • "Julia, you're amazing. I'm going to save Mommy now. You wait here."
  • Hudson slipped the tablet in his backpack. With his cap adjusted in place, he pretended to use the restroom.
  • Little did anyone know, he was breaching into the hotel's system while sitting on the toilet seat. He swung his legs as he hacked into the authority management system.
  • Meanwhile, in the hotel's parking lot, a black RV bearing the Dawson Family's license plate was parked in the VIP area.
  • In the back seat of the RV, Zayn sat silently in a white suit. His face was devoid of expression.
  • "Beep, beep." Daddy's not picking up the phone again.
  • His eyes were gradually clouded with disappointment.
  • It had been so long since he last saw his father that he struggled to recall their last moment together.
  • Even after winning a painting competition and returning home with an award, his father had not made an appearance to celebrate his success.
  • The silence in the car felt suffocating. Zayn's attempts to reach his father by phone turned into a continuous loop of unanswered calls and disconnected lines.
  • His bodyguard suggested tentatively, "Young Master Zayn, Mr. Jordan must be busy with the charity banquet tonight. Why don't we head back home?"
  • The Dawsons' bodyguards had endless duties. But the most challenging of all was attending to the Young Master.
  • They had to be cautious to ensure that Young Master Zayn did not rush off to the banquet in search of his father. Any dissatisfaction from Jordan would spell trouble for everyone.
  • Zayn's face was taut, fully aware that the bodyguards were keeping a close watch on him.
  • After ending the call, he stood up and made his way towards the car door.
  • "I'm going to the restroom."
  • The bodyguards followed him as he stepped out of the vehicle. As soon as his feet hit the ground, Zayn bolted towards the emergency staircase with surprising speed.
  • In the blink of an eye, he slammed the door and engaged the lock. The bodyguards were left stranded outside.
  • Their frustration and anxiety mounted as one bodyguard instructed, "Young Master Zayn has run off again. Notify the hotel's security to find him and be careful not to provoke him. We can't afford any trouble."
  • By this time, Zayn had reached the third-floor lobby. Thanks to his privileged status, he was granted permission to use the elevator.
  • His defiance was driven by a simple desire. All he wanted was to see his dad and receive a comforting hug.
  • Meanwhile, the hotel's security manager received the urgent call and began organizing a search for the Young Master within the premises.
  • Just then, Hudson emerged from the restroom. His face was shielded under his cap. With his tablet navigating smoothly through the staff's corridor, he infiltrated the premises stealthily.
  • On his journey to the 7th floor's elevator, he came face-to-face with a team of hotel security guards.
  • Hudson froze as he realized he had been caught in the act.
  • Luckily, he was quick-witted and composed under pressure. He adjusted his appearance to blend in as a hotel guest.
  • He traversed across the corridor. The hotel manager, having met the Young Master on previous occasions, was confident that it was Zayn that stood before his eyes.
  • Despite the altered appearance, the manager thought he couldn't mistake the resemblance. His features were a miniature replica of Mr. Jordan.
  • "Notify the bodyguards that we've found the Young Master. He's in a bad mood, so let's just keep our mouths shut. We'll follow him."
  • Both parties edged closer to each other, testing the waters with each step.
  • Hudson reminded himself not to betray any nervousness in his expression. He projected confidence and aimed to avoid any slip-ups.
  • As their distance was shortening, the hotel manager caught sight of his fierce countenance.
  • Indeed, he is a little rascal as rumored.
  • "What's wrong?" Hudson seized the moment as he decided to act first.
  • His eyes feigned an aggressive expression to mask his nervousness. His boldness appeared to have intimidated the team of securities.
  • "Nothing. Where are you going?" The team of security guards smiled awkwardly with polite embarrassment.
  • "I'm going upstairs," Hudson stated as he pressed the elevator button and stepped inside. As the security team moved to follow him, he subtly blocked the door with his foot.
  • "There's another elevator right next to this one. I prefer solitude."
  • Upon acknowledging this, the hotel manager withdrew respectfully and directed the team to the adjacent elevator. No one dared to offend Young Master Zayn.
  • The elevator doors closed. Hudson patted his chest and let out a sigh of relief.
  • "That was close. They are not as smart as I thought. I need to get away from them."
  • Hudson activated his tablet to hack into the hotel's security system. With precision, he made the adjacent elevator malfunction and ensured the doors remained locked for the next ten minutes.
  • Knowing that each floor of the hotel required a keycard for elevator access, he had to unlock each floor individually as he ascended.
  • Mommy is on the 27th floor. I still need some time.
  • Meanwhile, Nora was awaiting her son's arrival in the room.
  • Her evening gown had been torn. After spending a considerable amount of time in the bathroom attempting to mend it, she had no choice but to put on a bathrobe.
  • Just then, the room's lock beeped. The door had been unlocked.
  • "Jordan's back?" Nora's eyes widened in panic as the door swung open. To her surprise, it was Zayn who stood at the doorway.
  • "Sweetie, you're finally here."
  • Nora was overjoyed as she ran over, knelt down, and hugged the boy tightly.
  • Zayn was caught off guard by her actions. Before he could react, he found himself enveloped in the warmth of this unexpected embrace.
  • His eyes widened in surprise. For a brief moment, all the frustrations and hurts of the evening seemed to fade away.
  • Who is this angelic lady? Why is she in Daddy's room?
  • "Sweetie, how did it go? No one spotted you, right?"
  • Nora was hugging Zayn as she spoke. Her eyes were scanning the surroundings for any signs of danger.
  • Upon hearing this, Zayn knew the lady had mistaken him for someone else.
  • So this is what it feels like to be loved by a mother.
  • Nora noticed her son's silence. She touched his face gently with both hands and felt the chills of his hands in hers.
  • "What's the matter, sweetie? Are you okay?"
  • Zayn looked up at her with a conflicted expression. He wanted to tell her the truth, but the words were caught in his throat.
  • "I'm good… Mommy." He couldn't stop himself from calling out "Mommy". His heart was racing irregularly because of his unintentional deception.
  • However, Nora didn't notice anything amiss. She patted his head reassuringly. "That's a relief to hear. Let's leave now, or we'll be in danger."
  • Jordan could return at any given moment.
  • With that, Nora held Zayn's hand and fled from the room towards the elevator.
