Chapter 1 Divorce Drama and Triplet Surprise

  • "Who are you? I'm married..." Nora Clarke's voice wavered as she struggled against the man, her words lost in his heavy breathing. She fought back but soon found herself caught up in the moment.
  • The room was dim, filled with a lingering seductive scent. It was clear this hotel suite wasn't just a coincidence. The man, apparently unable to control himself, took charge, blending pain and pleasure in a way Nora had never experienced before. She bit her lip, her cries mingling with the sounds around her, unable to see the man's face clearly as she was overwhelmed.
  • Slap! A loud slap brought her back to reality. She was no longer in the hotel but back at the Dawson Residence, confronting her furious mother-in-law, Shannon Durham.
  • "How dare you?! Carrying the title of Mrs. Dawson and getting caught up in some scandal at the hotel during a family gathering!" Shannon's voice was sharp and cutting.
  • "Mom, it's not what you think! I didn't..." Nora's eyes filled with tears as she struggled to clarify. Internally, she fumed, I've been set up, and my virginity's been taken! That waiter drugged me!
  • Shannon sat regally on the sofa, her cold eyes fixed on Nora. "I never accepted of your marriage into the Dawson family. You come from a rural background and lack refinement. This mistake will shame the Clarke family, and the Dawson family won't stand for any disgrace."
  • "Mom, please. I need to talk to Jordan. I was framed..." Nora pleaded desperately, her voice breaking.
  • A year ago, things got tough for the Clarke Family. Despite everyone thinking it was a marriage arranged by the Dawson Family at the old man's request, it was purely a business deal. Jordan Dawson insisted he needed a beautiful, obedient wife, and Nora fit the description perfectly.
  • After the wedding, Nora stuck to the terms of their agreement. She hoped to stay with him forever, even though he never cared for her. Yet last night, she unexpectedly made a mistake.
  • "Do you seriously think he'll still want you? The Dawson Family won't put up with someone like you. You're not worthy of the title of Mrs. Dawson!" Shannon sharply retorted as she handed over a document—a divorce agreement.
  • When Nora saw the paper, her expression hardened. Later, she reflected, Since I'm the one who broke the deal first, so it's fair for him to want a divorce. My only way out is to leave and avoid causing any more damage to his and the Dawson Family's reputation.
  • Holding back her feelings, Nora grabbed the pen and stated, "Fine, I agree to the divorce."
  • Ten months later, heavy rain pounded outside the rural clinic where Nora lay in bed, waiting for her baby to arrive.
  • "Come on, just a bit more; the baby's almost here," the midwife encouraged.
  • Sweat dripped down Nora's pale face, the rain drowning out her cries of pain. Then, the room echoed with the baby's cries.
  • The midwife announced cheerfully, "It's a boy! Congratulations!"
  • Nora weakly looked at her newborn, tears running down her face.
  • After sorting out her divorce, she accidentally caused the Clarke Family to lose its alliance with the wealthy Dawson Family. Fueled by her stepmother, her furious father promptly kicked her out of the Clarke Family. Returning to the countryside, where she grew up with her mother, Nora realized she was pregnant and decided to keep the baby.
  • Suddenly, the clinic door burst open. A stranger rushed in and snatched Nora's newborn without a word.
  • "Who are you?! Give me back my baby!" Nora yelled, trying to sit up and chase after them.
  • "My baby... please, bring him back!" she pleaded desperately.
  • Exhausted, Nora collapsed. She had no choice but to watch the figure disappear into the rainy night with her newborn son. Then, another sharp pain gripped her stomach.
  • "There're another babies coming out!"
  • ...
  • Five years later.
  • Caldoria was in chaos thanks to a fierce snowstorm. The train depot was crowded with travelers due to flight cancellations. Nora steered through the crowd with a suitcase and two young kids. Her two kids were both around five years old.
  • "Hey, you! My iPad's gone. Did you steal it?" A nearby young woman intercepted Nora's kids as they exited the station, her tone serious and accusatory. Spectators gathered around, whispering and speculating.
  • Sporting his duckbill cap, the sharp and tech-savvy Hudson Clarke lifted his head confidently. "I didn't steal your iPad, but I can help track it down."
  • Knowing her son's knack for technology, Nora didn't intervene and watched him take charge.
  • Hudson added, "Give me your phone. I'll trace the iPad through its account. Switching it off won't erase the trail." Ignoring skeptical looks, he quickly used the phone to start tracking.
  • Within moments, an alarm echoed from a nearby woman's bag. Rattled, the woman defended herself. "Hey! Don't accuse me without proof! This is my iPad."
  • "I remember her from the train. She was watching dramas on an iPad in a pink case with a Shiba Inu keychain, and there was a small crack on the screen's top right corner," Julia Clarke added. She was Hudson's younger sister, dressed in pink with a sweet face and a sharp memory.
  • Nora beamed with pride as her kids teamed up to catch the thief.
  • "Please take the iPad out of your bag," Hudson requested firmly.
  • Sure enough, the iPad found in the woman's bag was indeed the stolen one. Onlookers applauded the children's quick thinking. Nora then stopped the young lady who had reclaimed her iPad, her tone turning somewhat icy. "You owe my kids a thank you and an apology."
  • After everything had settled, Nora saw Hudson walking ahead with Julia. Her mind wandered to her eldest son, who was snatched five years ago. His whereabouts were still a mystery, keeping her in constant uncertainty.
  • Finally finding the courage to return to Caldoria after all this time, Nora was driven by troubles at Clarke Pharmaceuticals and her strong desire to find her kidnapped son.
  • As they exited the train depot, Nora tried to flag down a taxi with the two kids. However, the line was jam-packed, blocking their path.
  • "Wow, check out all those fancy cars. I saw their plates; they're from the Dawson Family," someone remarked.
  • "Yeah, lucky to spot the richest folks in town, but too bad we didn't get to see them," another chimed in.
  • The Dawson Family?! Nora was stunned, coming to a sudden stop.
  • Ever observant, Hudson noticed his mother's reaction and asked, "What's up, Mommy?"
  • "There is too crowded. Just wait here for a while to keep safe," Nora replied, making an excuse. She really wasn't up for bumping into anybody from the Dawson Family, no matter who they were.
  • Meanwhile, the Dawson Family's bodyguards in black suits took over the VIP lane. They were escorting a boy dressed in black, accompanied by four helpers. The lavish limousine had an empty back seat.
  • Standing by the car door, Zayn looked disappointed. "Why didn't Daddy come to pick me up?"
  • One of the bodyguards replied respectfully, "Young Master Zayn, Mr. Jordan had urgent matters. We were told to bring you home."
  • Quietly displeased, Zayn settled into the car and gazed out the window.
  • The nervous bodyguards exchanged glances, all thinking the same thing. He's like a mini version of Mr. Jordan, a real troublemaker. Caring for Young Master Zayn is tough; nobody in the Dawson Family dares to upset him.
  • Soon, the Dawson Family's limo pulled away from the parking lot. Zayn, inside the limo, and Hudson, standing nearby, looked the same as each other...
  • ...
  • On the other hand, Nora ventured to a rooftop bar on the 52nd floor after settling the kids at the rented apartment that evening. Her mission was to stop her father from selling the Radiant Pharmaceutical, which originally belonged to her mother.
  • The buyer, a director from a big medication firm, was elusive. With no formal meeting in sight, Nora had to get creative and arrange a secret encounter. She posed as a waitress at the rooftop bar to sneak in.
  • This skirt is way too short! Nora thought, feeling awkward and unaware that she was being watched.
  • The VIP section sat on the bar's second floor. Nora silently slipped upstairs when a distracted security guard gave her a chance. Yet before she could start her hunt, two men in black abruptly grabbed her.
  • "Who are you?! Let me go!" Nora struggled fruitlessly against their hold.
  • They led her to a lush private room, their rough handling causing Nora to stumble and fall onto the carpet. Nora instinctively looked up, feeling a penetrating gaze fixed on her.
  • Suddenly, the figure lurking in the shadows flashed a sinister smile and gazed down at her with unmistakable arrogance.
  • "Well, well, well. Long time no see, my ex-wife," he remarked with a tone laced with familiarity and a hint of smugness.
