Chapter 7 Running Into That Hustler
- Elijah Stone's POV
- My subordinate and I arrived at Twilight Bar, and to avoid revealing myself, I put on my tailor-made mask.
- It allowed me to disguise myself as a male dancer in this bar, as all of them would wear a similar mask. Perhaps it was to give the customers a sense of mystery or that of excitement, but either way, I didn't care.
- "Elijah, we should beat that man up. He's bullying our Luna."
- Dolph's wrath was ignited, for we found Antonia escaping the party with a man chasing after her. They were arguing as we watched it all unfold in a corner.
- "It'll be fine, Dolph. He wouldn't dare do anything with so many people around. I will protect her if she really is in danger."
- At that, I walked toward my private booth and sat on the couch. "Let's bet if this dumb woman can make out who I am."
- Antonia Traver's POV
- "Don't tell me you don't have money to pay the bill!" Michael approached me malignantly. "You can beg me. I'll pay for everything tonight as long as you're willing to spend one night with me. Not only that, I'll take care of you in the office. No one will dare bully you—"
- Smack! I gave him a solid slap and cussed through gnashed teeth, "Shameless!"
- But lo and behold, Michael smiled lecherously instead of getting angry as he felt his face. "This is the first time you've touched me. What a tender hand you have!"
- "You're disgusting!" Feeling humiliated and livid, I left in anger.
- "You'll have a tough time surviving in the office if you run away tonight. The entire Administrative Department will despise and exclude you!" Michael shouted from behind. "Do you want to lose this job?!"
- I walked forward blankly, feeling woebegone. I couldn't afford to lose this job, but how was I to fish out a few hundred thousand to pay the bill?!
- Just as my mind ran in all directions, I caught sight of a familiar figure in the private room aside…
- A tall, upright man was sitting on the couch with his back facing me. His white dress shirt hung loosely against his waist, revealing a ferocious tattoo of a wolf's head and a long scar…
- It's him!
- I froze at once, and my heart pounded wildly like it would pop out of my chest any second…
- When I saw him in the car the last time, I was so nervous that I became breathless and stood rooted to the spot, stupefied. He left before I could even approach him, but right now, the man who had ruined my entire life was right in front of me!
- As I watched his back, hundreds and thousands of images of my past flashed across my mind…
- I failed to see my father one last time after that insane night four years ago. All I managed to see was my father's cold, stiffened body at the mortuary.
- At the funeral, all my relatives and friends pointed fingers at me, despised and humiliated me, and even wanted to cast me out.
- I got pregnant out of wedlock and received countless dirty looks when I had my checkups at the shabby clinic in the countryside.
- Since I had triplets, the grim reaper played a fierce tug-of-war with me when I was giving birth. I nearly lost to him, having nearly died from major blood loss…
- All of this was thanks to that man!
- Rage surged within me as I recollected my past. I clenched my fists and charged right inside.
- "Hey, this is a private area. You're not to barge in. Get out!" a man in black in the corner chastised me, but he very quickly shut up and headed back outside when that man gestured at him.
- I felt rather at a loss for words. Are hustlers so rich nowadays that they can even afford a bodyguard?! Looks like he's been living pretty well these past few years!
- At that, I fought back my agitation and approached him gingerly. "Is it you?"
- The man put his shirt back on before slowly turning around, revealing a black mask on his face.
- It concealed half of his face, showing a pair of harsh, thin lips and unfathomable eyes that emitted a mysterious glow as cold and dark as night.
- There was a golden, hollowed-out fire-shaped icon on the top right corner of the mask, giving the man an intimidating and wild aura.
- I couldn't help taking half a step back in response. Have I gotten the wrong person? There's no way a hustler would have such an intimidating aura! But wait—that tattoo. He's the guy, no doubt about it!
- "You don't remember me anymore, do you?" I pressed on. "I was drinking in Room K13 in this bar four years ago. My friend ordered you to keep me company, then we went to the hotel…"
- "You have a beauty mark on your chest!" The man looked thoughtfully at me with narrowed eyes. "We went for seven rounds that night…"
- "I'm going to kill you!" I hit the roof at once and charged at him, wanting to give him a slap, but he grabbed my wrist with breakneck speed and shoved me against the couch. "How dare you?!"
- "You son of a b*tch!!!" I pounced at him like a feral cat, flailing my arms as I tried to scratch him while shouting agitatedly, "It's all because of you that I ended up like this. You ruined my entire life!"
