Chapter 11 Made Some Money
- Antonia Traver's POV
- I was thrilled when I heard what the male escort said. "You got a client? For an hour or the night? How much do you get paid for?"
- "You sound rather experienced. Seems to me that you play around a fair bit."
- I could sense the sneer in his tone. Is he mocking me?!
- "You're the only one I played with!" I retorted at once.
- After all, I was Miss Traver, the Travers' precious daughter and a proper young lady. If it hadn't been for that incident five years ago, I wouldn't have gotten into bed with this male escort.
- I turned my attention back to the matter at hand and cleared my throat before saying, "Stop changing the subject. I'm asking you how much you get paid."
- "12 hundred dollars for the night!"
- There was a hint of ridicule in his voice, and I didn't know what he was thinking, but all I needed to know was that he had earned some money tonight, so it meant he could pay up now!
- "Awesome! Transfer seven hundred bucks to me first!" I instructed with great excitement.
- "What makes you think I get paid before the deed is done? Wait until the next morning." He hung up as soon as he said that. I didn't expect him to have such a fiery temper.
- I was frazzled as well when I heard the disconnect tone coming through the phone.
- Why's he being so rude? Is he trying to weasel his way out of our deal?
- However, I soon shot down the thought. He had signed the agreement, answered the phone when I called, and even reported his earnings without protest, so it didn't seem as if he were reneging on the deal.
- Let's just be patient. Maybe I'll wake up to find the money has been transferred to me the next day!
- That night, I couldn't fall asleep at all. I kept checking my phone from time to time to see if he had transferred the money yet.
- Unfortunately, even after checking my phone at least five times, there was still no message or notification.
- I couldn't help but get a little rattled. Is that male escort really going to backtrack on our agreement?
- Once again, I felt the urge to call him up and interrogate him, but after seeing that it was 2.00AM right now, I convinced myself to remain patient. Maybe he'll have time to make the transfer once he's done servicing his client.
- After tossing and turning in bed for what felt like ages, I finally began to feel drowsy.
- Just as I was about to doze off, my phone beeped with a notification. My eyes flew open as I snatched my phone out from under the pillow and immediately saw the notification about the transfer.
- Finally, the seven hundred bucks!
- I was so ecstatic that I shot up in bed. Hooray! I finally got the first payment! I sent him a text right away. 'Just got the money. You must've worked hard tonight. Keep up the good work!'
- He responded with a text of his own soon after.
- 'I just remembered that I settled a bill of 25 thousand for you last night, and you said you'll take it out of the amount I owe you.'
- I didn't expect him to remember that. Worried that he might ask me to return the money to him, I quickly came up with an excuse. 'I'm worried you'd spend all of your money and end up with no savings, so you should just send me the money every day. Don't worry. I'll make sure you get your 25 thousand back.'
- 'Sure.'
- 'Keep up the good work tonight. If you do a good job, I'll buy some supplements to help you stay in good shape!'
- '...'
- That was the last thing the male escort sent to me.
- It was 6.00AM right now, but I was so elated by the transfer that I lost all desire to sleep.
- The kids and I just moved to Seafaire from the countryside. We still needed to buy a lot of our daily necessities. It was Sunday, so I decided to take Mrs. Cherry and the three kids to the mall to get some things.
- I was once the Travers' pampered daughter who grew up in luxury. My father, Mark, doted on me in every way, letting me live the life of a princess.
- Unfortunately, there was no telling what could happen in this world. My family went through an upheaval, and I went from a princess to a mother of three.
- The person I was now would no longer buy anything that met my fancy. Instead, I would keep an eye out to see which malls and stores were running sales and which brands had the most value for money.
- In the end, I chose Central Mall. There was a sale going on right now, and they also had a playground where my kids could play.
- After changing into something comfortable, I took my kids to the mall.
- I stuffed my phone into a fanny pack and rolled up my sleeves to get into my shopping mode.
- "Barnabas, Robert, and Rose, I'm going to go shopping now. Stay here at the playground with Mrs. Cherry and have fun. Don't run around. I'll come back to get you as soon as I'm done, okay?"
- "Okay!" The three children chorused obediently.
