Chapter 8 Watch Your Mouth
- Min Shan’er could feel He Anzhou’s gaze on her.
- She blushed and felt overjoyed inside. With affection in her eyes, she gazed back at him as though she was truly concerned for Ji Fuchen.
- Ji Fuchen felt ironic. This Min Qing they were talking about had to be the woman defending his son. He didn’t care about her past. The fact that she protected his son meant he had a responsibility to protect her too.
- Ji Fuchen said to Shen Hongmei with a cold glance, “You know nightclubs so well. I’m guessing you used to do business there regularly!”
- Shen Hongmei’s expression instantly changed, and she turned livid. “You’re too much, Ji Fuchen! I’m just being considerate toward you, so why are you’re insulting me?”
- Ji Fuchen smiled coldly. “My bad. I couldn’t tell. All I can see is how mean you are.”
- Shen Hongmei was beyond infuriated. She raised an arm to slap Ji Fuchen on the face but was quickly held back by her husband.
- Min Mucong was trembling in anger too, but he wasn’t as irrational as Shen Hongmei.
- If he were to offend Ji Fuchen, it would reduce all his years of hard work to dust.
- Min Shan’er tried to diffuse the situation. “You’ve misunderstood my mother, Mr. Ji—”
- Ji Fuchen cut her off impatiently, “I didn’t. You know it best. The fact that you could think about something as cruel as giving a child plastic surgery shows how you’ve inherited your mother’s cruel heart. However, yours is slightly worse.”
- Min Shan’er turned pale as tears formed in her eyes, as though Ji Fuchen had completely misunderstood her.
- He Anzhou's face reddened with anger. “Watch your mouth, Ji Fuchen!”
- Ji Fuchen merely chuckled. He continued while ignoring He Anzhou, “You’re so young, but you are acting like a saint, putting on a show like the scheming b*tch you are. You’ve definitely surpassed your mother. It’s obvious just by looking at the idiot next to you.”
- He would be polite to those who were polite.
- But there was no need to watch his mouth with this ungracious mother-daughter duo.
- Min Shan’er had never been this humiliated her whole life. The flood gates opened, and she burst into tears.
- He Anzhou was a young and impulsive man. He couldn’t tolerate seeing Min Shan’er cry like this or being called an idiot. He clenched his fist and swung an arm toward Ji Fuchen’s handsome face.
- Ji Fuchen’s gaze darkened. He blocked He Anzhou’s fist with his back and shielded Min Lingrui in his arms.
- Seeing how his boss was about to get hit, the lobby manager, Mr. Xu, sent a flying kick into He Anzhou’s unguarded gut. With a pained expression on his face, He Anzhou kneeled on the ground, clutching his stomach.
- After that, Mr. Xu brushed his nose with a thumb, imitating Bruce Lee. “Open your eyes and look at the place you’re in, scum. You must have a death wish, trying to lay a finger on Mr. Ji.”
- Mr. Xu was already on guard the moment Shen Hongmei wanted to attack Ji Fuchen, but Min Mucong was wise enough to hold his wife back.
- He Anzhou, on the other hand, was reckless, which led to him being kicked by Mr. Xu.
- Min Mucong and Shen Hongmei were horrified.
- So was Min Shan’er. She stopped crying and kneeled on the floor to hold He Anzhou. “Are you okay, Anzhou? Let’s go to the hospital.”
- Shen Hongmei returned to her senses and pointed at Mr. Xu with a shaky finger. “Police! Call the police! He attacked someone!”
- Ji Fuchen noticed how pale Min Qing looked, and her petite body couldn’t stop trembling. The child in his arms looked afraid too, probably from He Anzhou’s sudden attack.
- With a frown on his face, Ji Fuchen carried Min Lingrui with one arm and placed the other arm around Min Qing, taking them to a safe place.
- Mr. Xu was an efficient manager. He immediately said into his walkie-talkie, “We’ve got a few rabid dogs here trying to bite Mr. Ji. Get over here and chase them away.”
- These people were stirring up trouble in Dorsett and even tried to attack Mr. Ji; if they weren’t rabid dogs, what were they?
- A team of security guards rushed in from all directions.
- “Where are the rabid dogs, Mr. Xu?”
- The guards didn’t see any dogs.
- “Are you blind? Can’t you see these massive ones standing right there?” Mr. Xu pretended to reprimand the guards while pointing at He Anzhou’s family.
- The guards were shocked. So these fools have offended Mr. Ji.
- They charged over fiercely.
- One of them spotted a janitor’s mop. He quickly took it and began to swipe at Shen Hongmei’s head and face. “You old hag, causing a scene at Dorsett! This is how I subdue dogs into obedience.”
- “Ahh!” Shen Hongmei screamed in pain and leaped into Min Mucong’s arms.
- Unable to tolerate being called an old hag by a security guard, she yelled back, “How dare you hit me, you loser? I’ll sue every cent out of you!”
- “That’s a very creative way of handling dogs. You'll get a five-thousand bonus this month,” Mr. Xu encouraged the guard. The other members immediately followed. Some grabbed trash cans, some grabbed a wooden bench, while others grabbed dirty towels.
- The family of four was chased out of Dorsett and blacklisted.
- Min Lingrui’s eyes twinkled as he stared at Ji Fuchen. “Mommy, he looks so much like me! He could really be my daddy!”
- Turning red in embarrassment, Min Qing reached out and snatched Min Lingrui back from Ji Fuchen. “Mr. Ji, thank you for acting as Lingrui’s father and helping us get out of that situation. Thank you,” she said.
- After thanking him, Min Qing turned and walked away with Min Lingrui in her arms. “Don’t just call anyone your daddy.”
- “But he really looks like me,” Min Lingrui said innocently.
- “You can’t call someone your daddy just because he looks like you.”
- Mr. Xu was dumbstruck. He had actually thought Min Lingrui was their young master.
- But now, it seemed like their boss was mistaken?
- Ji Fuchen thought Min Qing looked familiar when he gazed upon her exquisite face. Before he could think any further, she had taken his son away from him.
- Frowning, Ji Fuchen walked ahead and caught up to Min Qing. “Return my son to me now.”
- Min Qing stared wide-eyed at the man blocking her path.
- Did this man enjoy acting as Lingrui’s dad so much that he couldn’t snap out of it? And now he wants to steal my son?
- If this man weren’t the owner of Dorsett Hotel, she would have labeled him as a human trafficker.
- Min Qing hugged Min Lingrui tightly, afraid that Ji Fuchen would take him away.
- “Mr. Ji, you’re the owner of Dorsett and your wealth is beyond comprehensible. If you want a son, just say the word. I’m sure many women in R City will have your child. I only have Lingrui as my son, so please have mercy on me. Don’t take my son from me.”
- “Your son?” Ji Fuchen laughed. He said to Min Lingrui, “Xuan, tell this woman whose son you are.”
