Chapter 7

  • HAPPY READING

  • Her long hair flowed down and was left untied. Mili had imagined how beautiful doctors would roam around the ballroom, and of course, she would catch the attention of handsome doctors there. Ah, this reunion must be very classy. Considering that the medical faculty always had rich and smart students.
  • "King calling."
  • Mili applied nude lipstick. She looked at her reflection in the mirror again. She picked up her phone. Then she slid the green button on the screen.
  • "Yes, dear."
  • "I'm downstairs."
  • "Okay. I'll come down." Mili grabbed her bag from the nightstand that she had prepared beforehand. She chose high-heeled sandals of the same color to appear even sexier.
  • Mili remembered Dara's message that maintaining appearance was crucial to boosting someone's self-confidence. Appearance also reflects a person's personality. Everyone would respect us if we looked attractive. Yes, everything Dara said was true. Appearance wasn't everything, but everything was judged based on appearance.
  • Mili descended the stairs, looking at Dias coming out of his room. Mili almost forgot her fear of King because she was excited to be invited to this prestigious event. She hoped to find a partner there.
  • "Where are you going, sis? You look so pretty."
  • "Just going out." Mili glanced at Dias following her steps down the stairs.
  • "With Mr. King?"
  • "Just curious."
  • "Tell Mom that you're going and won't be in touch."
  • "Come on, if I'm 17 years old, I have to report first."
  • Dias's lips moved one centimeter forward. The problem was, whenever she went out, she was always being searched for by Mom and Dad. Even just hanging out, she needed a long and detailed reason.
  • "Where are Mom and Dad?"
  • "They went to Aunt Shinta's house."
  • "Okay. You take care of the house. Play games to your heart's content." Mili chuckled at Dias's sulking face because he had to take care of the house.
  • Mili opened the door handle. She looked at King right in front of her. The man was wearing a white shirt and gray pants. King's appearance was very neat and charming. King smiled and took a step closer. Her fear from yesterday disappeared just like that.
  • King was mesmerized by Mili's appearance. The dress she wore fit her slim figure perfectly. He indeed had a strong instinct. Which woman was worthy of standing beside him? He hugged Mili's body and gave her a kiss on the top of her head. He could smell the scent of white roses from Mili's body.
  • King's gaze shifted towards Dias. They had met and chatted at the engagement event yesterday. Mili had introduced him as her brother, who was a student and the president of a university located in Cikarang. King let go of his embrace.
  • "Hi, Dias."
  • "Hi, Mr. King." Dias was awkward.
  • He felt insecure seeing himself only wearing boxer shorts and a faded t-shirt, while King looked so handsome.
  • "Where are you going, sir?"
  • "There's a reunion event. Why is it so quiet?"
  • "Mom and Dad went to Aunt Shinta's house. The garage is still crowded though. It's Mili's employees."
  • "Hmm."
  • "Okay, sir. Take care of Mili."
  • "Yes, Dias."
  • "Dias, go inside first. Continue playing games."
  • "Hope you win."
  • "Got it, sir."
  • King watched Dias walk away from him. Then he disappeared behind the bedroom door. King glanced at Mili, who was wearing high-heeled sandals on the terrace chair. She smiled as she stood there, looking at him.
  • "Why?" Mili asked.
  • "You look so beautiful."
  • "Thank you."
  • Mili's gaze fell on the black BMW car right in front of her. It wasn't Ares' BMW because it had a different shape and a larger body.
  • "Is this your car?"
  • "Yes."
  • "The latest BMW, right?" Mili asked. Since she had replaced her minibus with an old BMW, she knew which BMW models were of high quality.
  • "Yes."
  • "It must be very expensive," Mili said. She looked at King opening the car door for her.
  • "Expensive is relative," King muttered.
  • A few minutes later, the car left the house area. King looked at Mili, who was staring at her phone screen. He didn't really like it when they were together like this and Mili was busy with her phone.
  • "Still busy?"
  • "Not really, just letting my administrator know. To close the gate when I get home. Because he's used to it. He never closes the gate."
  • "What time do your employees go home?"
  • "At 5 pm. But if there are a lot of orders, they stay late. There are a lot of orders today." Mili put her phone in her bag.
  • King smiled. "You like having an online business like yours."
  • "It's not bad. I don't really like working under someone else's control. So I started my own business. I took a daring step. And it turned out like this. It's exciting."
  • "How did it start?" King started a conversation to make Mili feel comfortable talking to him.
  • "At first, I was drop shipping. My products were popular. So I decided to open my own business. I found suppliers. And here I am."
  • "How long has it been?"
  • "Quite a while. About 5 years."
  • "Where did you study?"
  • "At Trisakti University, Faculty of Economics. That's why I started an online shop business."
  • "It's related to your field of study." King let Mili speak with her uniqueness.
  • "Yes."

  • King looked at the white-dominated Mulia Hotel building, his destination. This hotel was one of the most luxurious hotels in Jakarta. It had a classic and luxurious design. Tall pillars adorned the rooms. The spacious room was filled with classic chairs in brown and fatherly colors. The lobby had a mezzanine where excellent drinks were served. The receptionists served the guests wholeheartedly.
  • The lobby view of this hotel was so luxurious. The lighting was excellent. Near the elevator, there were congratulatory messages for the reunion of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia. Mili looked at the security guard who smiled and welcomed the guests. The security guard greeted every visitor and directed them to the elevator to go up to the ballroom.
  • Mili followed King's steps and entered the elevator with other visitors. There were a few women who kept looking at her. Mili felt nervous. Without realizing it, King's fingers were tightly holding hers. King looked at her and Mili met his gaze. Her heart raced instantly, and she tried to calm her heartbeat.
  • The elevator doors opened, bringing Mili back from her daydream. They walked towards the ballroom. King just smiled and pulled Mili along. His slender fingers were still holding hers. King looked at the visitors entering the room. The ballroom was already crowded.
  • Mili took a deep breath. Honestly, she didn't know anyone here except King. She was grateful that she didn't wear the wrong outfit. She looked stunning in her black dress at this event. In fact, she looked sexier than the others. Oh yes, Dara's dress designs always mesmerized people.
  • Meanwhile, King looked at some men at one of the tables near the pillars. The men noticed his presence and stood up. There were Dimas, Kesatria, and Raka. They were all his friends from the past. After a long time, they were finally reunited here.
  • "These are my friends," King whispered. He pulled Mili's hand and approached the men.
  • Mili looked at the three men who were just as cool as King. They had great fashion sense and looked so neat. They looked more like models than specialist doctors. The image of bookworm doctors wearing glasses and carrying thick books was gone. Look at them, all handsome men. Their lives were almost perfect. Handsome and wealthy.
  • "Hey guys, how are you?" King hugged Dimas and patted his shoulder. Among them, Dimas was the most perfect. Dimas daringly married one of the hotel owner's daughters.
