- “It’s good to hear you say that but it hurts to know you don’t trust your mama anymore.” Rhoda chuckled, returning her daughter’s hug.
- “Don’t be sad, mama,” Lauretta mumbled, pulling away from the hug. “It’s not that I don’t trust you but this was looking so impossible to lay a hand on.” She gestured at the invite. “You know how much I hate keeping my hopes up so I don’t get disappointed but you proved me wrong once more. I’m so proud to have you as my mom.” Lori grinned.
- “Of course.” Rhoda tried to hide her blush. “It was tough but I did it. I’m not sure an opportunity like this would present itself anytime soon so we need to make the best of this event.” Rhoda said sternly.
