Chapter 10 The Successful Pitch

• When she arrived at the office building of Yue Liang Wan Estate, Bai An Xiang was greeted by a fine-looking attendant, “You must be Miss Bai An Xiang.”
• Bai An Xiang nodded her head in response.
• “Please come with me.”
• The attendant ushered Bai An Xiang straight to the general manager’s office.
• The general manager was a stout man in his 50’s.
• Upon Bai An Xiang’s arrival, he quickly jumped out of his chair and handed her a contract agreement, “Miss Bai, please read through and check if everything is fine. If it is, you could just sign here.”
• 80 million…
• Bai An Xiang was confused as she received the contract. Then she realized that it was a copy of the investment agreement from Yue Liang Wan Estate to the Bai Corporation, and it amounted to 80 million.
• Although the Bai Corporation was a relatively big company, there was no way they could gather 80 million in cash. That was also the reason they decided to look for investors into their upcoming project. Initially, they were only targeting for 50 million in funds, but Yue Liang Wan offered 80 million without listening to a single word of the pitch.

• Cheng Yuan was not surprised to the way she abruptly switched to the topic, because he knew she was going to ask about it.
• “I had a classmate who works at Jun Feng.” He smiled.
• Bai An Xiang did not pursue further, although she still had questions in her mind.
• On the next day, in the meeting room of Bai Corporation.
• Everyone was heavy-hearted, it seemed like there was minimal progress on the financing.
• Especially Bai Yong Ming, he was unusually gloomy.
• He anticipated the proposal to Long Teng Group to be a breeze. To his surprise, when he made an appointment to meet up with Long Chen Yu at the most prestigious hotel in Xin Yang City, things ended up differently than he expected.
• Initially, Long Chen Yu was welcoming to him, even when they talked about the investment plan, Long Chen Yu never hesitated before verbally agreeing to the deal. However, Bai Yong Ming told him about how he exchanged companies with Bai An Xiang.
• When Long Chen Yu learned that it was Bai An Xiang who was supposed to meet him regarding the collaboration, he instantly changed his attitude and shouted at Bai Yong Ming, “If you need financing from Long Teng, get Bai An Xiang to talk to me, who the hell do you think you are?”
• So, when Bai An Xiang entered the meeting room in the morning, Bai Yong Ming glared at her fiercely, as if he had fire in his eyes.
• “Everyone was concerned about the financing of the project, except you, Bai An Xiang, behaving like it is none of your business,” Bai Yong Ming scoffed, “Do you even care about the project?”
• His tone was extremely sarcastic, so sarcastic that it caught the attention of everyone in the room.
• Judging on the fact that he was just worried for the issues Bai Corporation was facing, master did not stop him.
• Although master stayed silent, everyone else had their eyes fixed on Bai An Xiang like she was the culprit.
• “The people who have never been involved in managing the business will never understand the urgency of the matter. No wonder she is just holding a clerical position in the company.”
• “I’m pretty sure she is trying to bring the family down.”
• Bai An Xiang had been long accustomed to the mockeries and sarcastic remarks coming from the family, she turned to master and said indifferently, “Grandpa, the general manager of Yue Liang Wan Estate, Mr. Zhang Xun, has agreed to finance the project, they will be investing 80 million to Bai Corporation.”

• Upon hearing this, master spilled the longjing tea he just sipped all over the desk.

• That’s impossible.
• Everyone was dumbfounded.
• “Bai An Xiang, don’t even try to make up stories to cover up your mistakes,” Bai Yong Ming slammed the desk as he came to his senses, “Who do you think you are? Why would Yue Liang Wan strike a deal with someone of your caliber?”
• “That’s right, there is no need to lie about it, 80 million? Pfft! Do you really think the people at Yue Liang Wan are retarded?”
• “Yeah, they are under Jun Feng, never mind an unknown worker like you, we are not sure if they’ve even heard of Bai Corporation before.”
• In response to the accusations and questioning, Bai An Xiang pulled out the agreement and presented it to master, “This is the contract by Yue Liang Wan’s Mr. Zhang, he said if there is no issue, we can send it back for their signatures. For your reading pleasure, grandpa.”
• This move by Bai An Xiang shocked the crowd again.
• Bai Yong Ming did not believe her, “Bai An Xiang, you even drafted a fake agreement? How could you make up all these stories, aren’t you afraid that people will find out the truth?”
• “Yeah, what does a fake agreement do? They are not going to invest in the end anyway…”
• “Quiet!” at this point, Master Bai, who had been carefully reading the terms of the agreement was amused, he shouted at everyone.
• The crowd was astonished.

• It was the first time Master Bai spoke to Bai An Xiang such in a gentle and soft manner, this made Bai An Xiang felt a little strange.
• However, it was good news.
• She received the agreement, lips curved upwards slightly and glared at Bai Yong Ming.

• Bai Yong Ming was astonished as he heard this and scoffed, “Bai An Xiang, who do you think you are? It was just a joke, did you really take it seriously? If I hadn’t exchanged with you, do you think you’ll get the deal?”
• “A joke?” Bai An Xiang gazed across the people in the room.
• “If I didn’t manage to get the deal, would you still take the bet as a joke?”
• “If I failed, does that mean I am no longer belong to the family? That I was supposed to scram?”
• Bai An Xiang laughed ironically, “If I failed, you, and all of you, are you ready to push me off the cliff? To see me kowtow to Bai Yong Ming apologetically and would think of all possibilities to mock me, humiliate me?”
• Every single word of hers was loud and clear, while the rest of the people were looking at each other, unable to refute her.
• In the end, Bai An Xiang slowly turned to master, hoping he could do her justice.
