Chapter 8 Christian Ace

  • The Kingston family was well known. Not only because of their high status above all but because George Kingston had helped several people financially which earned him merits. Everyone turned to him if they needed help. He invested in small businesses which skyrocketed to great heights.
  • His company was among the best across the words that included a few located in different countries.
  • Which was why he let his first son and the only male son he had, Christian Ace oversee them. Christian grew up away from their family, he was unknown to the world due to his constant traveling.
  • The 27 years old, handsome bachelor was every woman's dream. Despite not seeing him, his reputation was well known. He was a playboy who was never committed to one woman. Some said getting into his bed meant testing the waters when one fully knew the consequences. Even so, many women wished to be a part of his life, even if it was for a night. Unfortunately, in the past five years, a woman who was the city's sensation won Christian's heart. People always asked questions about how the little doll Ashley Smith managed to tame Christian into marrying her until the day of the wedding. The bride was ready, in her beautiful custom-made wedding dress. The entire city had gathered in the large church to witness a great day when two powerful families got together to wed their children.
  • However Everything changed when the groom showed up three hours late to cancel the wedding himself and apologized to everyone present. Not just the bride's family, but the people who wanted answers.
  • Reporters were swarming around the Kingston estate, the gold-made gates of the Kingston estate which were always open had been closed for fear of the reporters asking questions. Security guards stood by the gate in readiness to prevent any more drama.
  • With speed, a red sports car came towards the estate at high speed. All the reporters turned to see who it was. They couldn't have mistaken the city's heartthrob for another. Immediately they spotted Christian Ace's car, they flashed cameras as they rushed forward to get answers. The gates were opened. Ignoring everyone, Christian drove in effortlessly and ordered for the gates to be closed. Stopping his car by the entrance, the car door flew open, and he stepped out. Two women dressed in dark blue and white uniforms stood by the entrance with their heads bowed together with a man in a black suit.
  • “Welcome sir,” they all chorused as soon as their young boss stepped out of his car, adjusted his white shirt sleeves to his elbows and took off his sunglasses. Scanning the place which looked different, the sun was at its peak shining brightly above, a small smirk tugged at the corners of his lips as he slammed the car door shut, and tossed the keys and sunglasses away which the man in a black suit caught in a rush.
  • “Trav, how are you…ladies,” he said like he always did and walked right past them. The giggles from the two girls had Travis, Christian's assistant, rolling his eyes in annoyance and following his boss. It was like this every time. Every servant got excited each time he came back home.
  • However, this time his return wasn't appreciated especially by the family who had gathered in the living room including his father and little sisters as well as his mother.
  • “Hey family, what goes on… I'll be upstairs getting my things,” he said, rushing as soon as he entered the living room and turned to leave. The air was heavy, especially seeing his old man pacing back and forth.
  • “Young man, care to explain why you decided to humiliate my family to such an extent!” The angry voice of his father made him come to an abrupt stop, Christian let out curses as he turned back.
  • “Bro, finally you opened your eyes, I missed you” it was the youngest sister who jumped out of her seat and rushed to him.
  • “Hey baby doll, missed me,” he embraced her in his arms, chuckling at how silly she was behaving. “You look a little taller… Where's the other one ?” Christian asked while rubbing his hand in his sister's hair when she slapped his hand away. His sister was a little spoiled.
  • “Upstairs… she said you ruined her social life… apologize, bro,” she said and rushed out of the living room.
  • “How can you humiliate us like this… for goodness' sake… why Chris,” this time it was his mom who said, not to get fooled, the woman before him was his stepmother? The queen of the Kingston family and beside her was the king, George Kingston.
  • “Aren't you going to welcome me properly… or ask questions like, when did you get back…how was your flight…those questions,” Christian said nonchalantly as he dropped on the couch and crossed his legs gracefully. Both parents had dark expressions which could murder anyone. Their sin humiliated them.
  • “Do you realize what you have done… What that poor girl is going through…” his father reprimanded. Christian gave a lazy yawn knowing he was tied and all he wanted was to rest and not be lectured like two years old.
  • “Marriage alliances break no big deal...she's not the first woman to go through it, old man, even if I married her…what difference would it have made?” Christian asked, arching his brows at them. They already knew his views about marriage, it was irrelevant to him. Marriage is just like buying something, it's useful for the first time, but one loses interest upon having it for long.
  • “Five years, Christian…five years and you break the engagement now!” His stepmother chimed in, of course, the two couples never missed a chance to bully him.
  • “Stepmom, what can I say… I realized Marriage isn't my cup of tea… if it hurts the Smith family so much… I can compensate them…ask them the amount they want, I'm willing to pay,” he said cheekily, smiling at his parents. It was nothing because money could resolve all problems. If the Smith family thought they lost a relied on asset, he was willing to pay them.
  • “Can you listen to yourself… Do you think you can buy pride or dignity… you turned that poor girl into a joke Chris… a laughingstock,” his stepmother continued shouting, of course, she was a mother figure? However, he had his reasons, and getting married wasn't one of them.
  • “Since you won't let me have peace… I'm out, old man, send the documents for the upcoming project to my office …” Christian said, getting up. The two were giving themselves a headache for no reason. He had better things to do. Like inspecting his mansion which was under construction.
  • “Chris, come back here!” His father called after him when he stopped “your mother has arranged dinner tomorrow… her daughter will be joining us…so please find time to meet the latest addition to the family,” his father informed as if giving orders. His father wasn't old despite the silver hair. He was energetic with a handsome face which had everyone thinking how good looking he must have been in his teenage years. Or even the reason why the woman beside him married him. She was beautiful with class and elegance.
  • “You mean the one ashamed of us… oh, I've heard of her… has she gone broke, and now she wants our last name…how cocky,” Christian said sarcastically and stormed away. He wasn't interested in meeting anyone. Because he had other plans.
  • “Leaving so soon, sir, I have arranged for the press conference as well as…”
  • “Trav, buddy… no conference meetings unless it has to do with a woman's nakedness… book me an appointment with…my latest prey… pay any amount… I want her tonight, and make sure she's untouched tonight,” he said, cutting off his PA and trusted man, Travis adjusted his specs and nodded.
  • “Rest assured, sir… but…”
  • “No buts Trav, if possible shut down the club on my order…” Christian said he didn't care how many men wanted his butterfly. The fact was that he got what he wanted, effortlessly.
