Chapter 9 Jerry's Scheme
- Inside the mansion.
- "Lillian, tell me quickly, how are Hope and Grace? You have to tell me!
- "Did you just say that Jerry's men are all dead, and Hope and Grace are missing, right?
- "Who took them away? Do you know?"
- Vivienne held Lillian's hand tightly, her voice trembling with emotion, her body shaking slightly.
- The capture of her daughters had already plunged her into deep anguish.
- Now, receiving even worse news that her daughters had been taken away by another group of people, her heart raced with panic.
- "Vivienne, fret not. I've enlisted my dad's aid in this matter. We shall locate them shortly. Stay calm, everything will turn out fine."
- Lillian held Vivienne close, consoling her. She stayed beside her, refusing to leave, fearing that any moment away might drive her to do something foolish.
- Suddenly, the phone in the room rang.
- Vivienne responded quickly, not wanting to miss any crucial details.
- "Vivienne, if you wish to see your daughters unharmed, come downstairs immediately. I'll be here." Jerry's voice echoed through the receiver.
- "Jerry, what have you done with my daughters? Where are they? Lillian mentioned they were taken by another person. What's the reality?"
- Vivienne's tone grew urgent, tears streaming down her cheeks uncontrollably.
- She was in complete disarray, utterly panicked.
- "Hmph, that was just my scheme. Nonsense about being taken away. Your daughters are still in my hands. I only did it to clear my own suspicion.
- "After my careful planning, now all the top figures in Flison City know your daughters aren't in my hands.
- "Thus, even if I secretly have them both killed, I won't have the slightest trouble."
- Jerry was almost driven to madness.
- He had intended to use Hope and Grace to pressure Vivienne into submission, but now both girls had been snatched away, and his men were either dead or severely injured.
- He went straight to where Vivienne was hiding, attempting one last gamble. He tried to deceive her, claiming it was all his scheme, hoping to manipulate her into becoming his woman.
- "I'll be waiting downstairs. If you fail to appear within three minutes, prepare to retrieve their corpses."
- Jerry's voice turned icy.
- "No, I beg you, spare my daughters ... "
- Vivienne's hoarse cry reverberated, her complexion drained of colour, yet the call had already terminated.
- Without hesitation, she rushed downstairs, Lillian was unable to hold her back.
- "Bring her here and take her away!"
- Jerry, stationed with his men outside the mansion, immediately ordered as soon as he saw Vivienne emerge.
- His men moved swiftly, subduing Vivienne and Lillian, prepared to take Vivienne by force.
- "Return my daughters to me. Jerry, bring them back ... "
- Vivienne's pleas were desperate.
- "Jerry, what is your intention here? I warn you! If any harm befalls Vivienne and her daughters, the Ashwoods will not forgive you. Do not underestimate us."
- Lillian's eyes flashed with fury.
- "You idi*t, what nonsense are you spouting?"
- Jerry's brow furrowed at Lillian's threat. Enraged, he lifted his hand and delivered a blow across her face.
- Slap!
- The echo of the slap lingered as Lillian bore the imprint of his hand on her cheek.
- "Lillian, do not presume I am afraid of your family.
- "Pftt!
- "Behind the Houles stands the most formidable family in Zyltria. Do you honestly think the insignificant Ashwoods can intimidate me?"
- He spoke with disdain, ignoring the fury in Lillian's eyes, and continued with icy resolve.
- "Today, I will take Vivienne alongside me, claiming her as my own. As for your family ...
- "When I have the chance, I'll deal with you all. Today, I'm leaving my mark. From now on, your family will have no peace in Flison City."
- Shhh!
- Upon hearing his words, Lillian's face turned suddenly pale.
- "Vivienne, this night you will be mine, and from now on, you are exclusively mine. Only I can control you ... "
- He fixed his gaze upon Vivienne, his face twisted with a blend of affection and animosity.
- Vivienne's face was filled with despair.
- At that moment, a cold, indifferent voice pierced through the air like a chilling wind, echoing in everyone's ears.
- "Jerry, it's time for you to face your death!"
