Chapter 7 Plunged Into Chaos
- The shock was overwhelming, truly staggering.
- Waylon was completely dumbfounded, frozen in place.
- Theodore gazed at Ronan in front of him, cold sweat pouring down his face, as memories of Ronan saving him from peril twice in recent years flashed through his mind.
- Three years ago, the Dragon Hall annihilated the leader of the Four Great Forces, rising to fame in a single battle.
- That same year, Theodore led troops deep into enemy territory. Encircled and besieged, they fought for three days and nights. On the brink of exhaustion and starvation, Ronan came with eighteen divine dragon envoys of the Dragon Hall, slaughtering thousands of enemy soldiers.
- In that battle, the scarred land lay drenched in blood.
- During that conflict, Ronan rescued him from dire peril.
- Eight months ago, Theodore embarked on a mission, only to encounter the Dark Alliance, captured and imprisoned in their dungeons, with no hope of escape.
- Once again, Ronan forcefully stormed into the enemy's lair, compelling the Dark Alliance to release him in the most dominant manner possible, saving his life once more.
- The debt of life-saving grace was beyond repayment.
- Not to mention that Ronan had saved him twice before.
- "If it weren't for Mr. Crest saving my life, not just once but twice, my life would have been lost outside the country.
- "You are my saviour. I will not oppose you," said Theodore, his eyes welling with tears as he gazed earnestly at Ronan.
- At forty years old, he looked tearfully at Ronan with eyes filled with determination.
- "Not oppose me, huh?"
- Ronan snorted in response.
- He knew that Theodore wasn't unwilling to oppose him, but rather afraid to do so.
- With a disdainful snort, he boldly stepped past Theodore.
- He didn't want to waste any more time here. He had things to do. He needed to avenge his wife and daughter and send those d*mn people where they belonged.
- "Mr. Crest, though the Houles may seem insignificant, they are backed by the foremost family in Zyltria. If you kill the Houles, I fear ... "
- Theodore interjected, attempting to dissuade him.
- Clearly, he had already investigated thoroughly on the way here and learned that the kidnappers of Ronan's daughters hailed from the Houles in Flison City.
- "You want to stop me?
- "Theodore, do you intend to oppose me?
- "Are you here tonight to declare war on the Dragon Hall on behalf of Celestine?"
- Two icy retorts pierced the air like freezing frost, chilling Theodore to the bone.
- Thud, thud, thud!
- Ronan's words hit him like thunder, causing Theodore to stagger back uncontrollably, his face drained of colour.
- He's gone mad, truly gone mad!
- He could see that Ronan had reached the brink of complete insanity. If he said anything more, the consequences ...
- "No, no ... I have no intention of opposing you. Celestine also has no desire to oppose the Dragon Hall.
- "Mr. Walker just wants to meet with you, to talk face-to-face.
- "Mr. Crest, Mr. Walker is elderly now. Out of respect for his age, could you meet with him and have a few words?
- "While wiping out the Houles may seem insignificant, the Harveys backing them, that's ... "
- Theodore gasped, cold sweat streaming down his face like rain, his agitation reaching its peak.
- If tonight's matter wasn't handled properly, it could truly lead to catastrophic consequences.
- If he insisted on obstructing, it would mean he opposed the Dragon Hall.
- Yet, if he didn't intervene and allowed the Dragon Hall to annihilate the Houles, the Harveys, the foremost family in Zyltria who backed them would unleash a cataclysmic storm of bloodshed and chaos.
- "Hmph, what of the Harveys? What is the foremost family in Zyltria?
- "My Dragon Hall can crush the Four Great Forces at will. Does the mere Harveys deserve my attention?"
- Ronan chuckled coldly, speaking disdainfully with utmost dominance.
- "Theodore, go back and tell Samson that I respect him as Celestine's top war hero and honour his lifetime of service to Celestine. But those from the Houles have threatened my wife and daughters. If I do not avenge this grievance, I am not worthy of being called a husband or a father.
- "The Houles must die!
- "If the Harveys dare to meddle, they will also die!"
