Chapter 27 Heat

• After breakfast and bath, I go to the sunroom, with the help of a servant who guides me to it. I sit on the couch overlooking the massive garden in front. Over half of its walls are made of glass with creeping vines on the glass roof that serves as a shade to the room. The wall behind me is the only solid structure in the room.
• Alone and uncomfortable, I raise my feet on the couch and hug my knees to my chest. The sunroom is on the second floor, and even if the garden is beautiful, I just can’t help but be anxious. This really is not a place for a werewolf.
• The door opens and Theo comes in. I notice him taking a breath, but I look away. I sense him coming closer.
