The man scoffed defiantly, not at all deterred by Ian's threat to hand him over to the police.
Ian took out his phone at that moment and made a call. At first, the man didn't look the least bit frightened, and he even had his legs crossed like he was completely at ease. It was only after he heard Ian actually speaking to the police that his expression shifted.
When Ian hung up, the man got down from the couch and spat out menacingly, "Fine, this is what it has come down to. This isn't over, though—I'm going to keep coming back for the money, and I won't be settling for less than fifty million."
