Chapter 8 The Young Lady Is Perfect

  • Knowing they didn't have the guts to betray her, Juliet deliberately ignored their pleading eyes, her face looking significantly distressed. Unexpectedly, Stephanie, that b*tch, managed to restore the deleted surveillance footage, rendering all my plans completely useless!
  • “I'm telling you, the one thing my darling Stephy never lacks is money!” Luna still felt unsatisfied, her heart aching as she gently patted Stephanie's hand. With a wave of her hand, the housekeeper behind her brought her the safety deposit box.
  • Luna unlocked the safe, pulling out handfuls of cash and thrusting it into Stephanie's grasp. “Stephy, throw this money at her! Let her see who the real pauper is!”
  • “Stephy, I'm going to buy this entire shopping mall right now, and it's all for you!” William was equally infuriated. Stephy was their little princess, whom they intended to pamper and cherish. They couldn't bear to let her suffer even the slightest injustice, let alone harsh words. How dare these people let my precious daughter endure such an injustice!
  • William made a phone call, and the mall manager hurried over immediately, holding a contract in his hand. He respectfully presented it to Stephanie.
  • “Ms. Yarbrough, from now on, all the stores in this district will be yours!” the mall manager said.
  • This entire area was among the most bustling districts in Jacaster, where even a month's rent could cost tens of millions.
  • Luna started saying with an unmatched gentleness, “The monthly rent for these malls is only a few tens of millions. It's a bit less, but that's okay. Every day, I will transfer ten million for you to spend and have fun, Stephy!”
  • This really made Juliet green with envy. Her monthly allowance was only a few million, yet Stephanie's fortune had suddenly exceeded ten million.
  • Juliet had only been back for a day, and yet Luna and William had already given her so much money. She couldn't help but wonder if there would be anything left for her in the Yarbrough family's wealth in the future.
  • With those worries in mind, Juliet was determined to drive Stephani out of the Yarbrough family.
  • “No need.” Stephanie shook her head, declining the offer. She didn't lack money and even had some she couldn't quite spend fully.
  • However, Luna misunderstood her intentions. She quickly said, “Stephy, do you think ten million a day is too little? How about I transfer fifty million to you every day instead?”
  • “Stephy, I'll also give you eighty million daily for your leisure!” William hastily chimed in, showing off himself.
  • Aware that if she continued to refuse, they would only increase the amount of money transferred to her daily, a deeper shade of helplessness emerged in Stephanie's exquisite eyes. “Do as you please,” she said.
  • She wasn't lacking in wealth, but the unwavering belief and support from William and Luna, who asked no questions and simply stood by her side, filled her heart with warmth.
  • Standing off to the side, Juliet was seething with rage, so much so that she nearly ground her teeth to dust. All the effort she'd put into her scheme had not only failed to trap Stephanie, but it had instead made Stephanie even more successful. This incident was enough to make Juliet want to scream in frustration.
  • Meanwhile, at the hospital, Hannah uttered, “I'm fine now. I want to be discharged. None of you should try to stop me!”
  • As soon as Hannah regained her strength, she started insisting on being discharged from the hospital. The doctors and nurses couldn't stop her. Just when they were at a loss, a deep, magnetic male voice suddenly sounded.
  • “Grandma.” The man of icy aloofness and nobility strode in with long steps, and as he did, the temperature in the room seemed to plummet abruptly, instilling an involuntary sense of dread. “Your health has just improved a bit. Stop throwing a tantrum.”
  • Upon seeing Walter, Hannah became somewhat more composed. She sat up straight, obediently placing her hands on her knees. “I wasn't throwing a tantrum. I need to be discharged immediately to find the young lady who saved me. It's essential that I properly thank her!”
  • “Stay in the hospital and continue to recover. I'll have someone find the person for you.” Walter's tone was nonchalant, yet it carried an undeniable air of certainty.
  • Hannah understood his temperament well. She knew that her wish to be discharged from the hospital was not going to happen. All she could do was purse her lips and urge, “Walt, you must find the young girl who saved me!”
  • If only that beautiful and kind-hearted girl could become my granddaughter-in-law! Unfortunately, Walt is already engaged to the Yarbrough family's daughter. Luckily for me, I have a young grandson who is about the same age as the young lady. They could be a perfect match! If that young lady could become my granddaughter-in-law, I'd be so delighted I'd even wake up laughing from my dreams! Just the thought alone was enough to make Hannah unable to contain her laughter. She covered her mouth, giggling secretly.
  • “Walt, you wouldn't believe how amazing that young lady was. I was so close to losing it! Luckily for me, she saved me!” Hannah said.
  • Listening to Hannah continuously praising her lifesaver, another face, however, surfaced in Walter's mind.
  • He listened absentmindedly. His deep gaze was fixed on the unanswered chatbox.
  • The young lady was great in every aspect, but she was too aloof. Up until then, she still hadn't responded to his message.
  • “Walt, are you even listening to what I'm saying?” Hannah questioned.
  • Walter gathered his thoughts. His gaze became more focused, and he said in a deep voice, “Grandma, please continue.”
  • “You've got to be kidding me! I've been speaking for so long, and you haven't taken in a single word. How did I end up with such an ungrateful grandson like you?” Hannah complained.
  • Listening to the stream of novel words coming from Hannah's mouth, Walter pinched the bridge of his nose, turning to give instructions to Cody.
  • “In the future, try to limit my grandma's internet use,” Walter ordered.
  • “That's unacceptable! I'm an internet enthusiast! What's the point of living if I can't access the internet?” Hannah immediately raised her objections. Then, as if she suddenly remembered something, she quickly added, “Oh, by the way, Walt, when are you going to visit the Yarbrough family to see your fiancée?”
  • A cold glint flashed across Walter's elongated, deep-set almond eyes as he corrected her by saying gravely, “Grandma, I do not have a fiancée.”
  • “Don't you forget that my heart condition has just stabilized!” Hannah had anticipated his reaction and immediately started to threaten him by saying, “If you upset me again, I'm likely to have another heart attack!”
  • The hint of helplessness deepened in Walter's eyes, becoming even more pronounced. He decided to deflect the conversation. “Grandma, you should rest well. I'm going to find the person who saved your life right now.”
  • Sure enough, as soon as these words were spoken, Hannah was immediately distracted, nodding her head repeatedly. “All right! Hurry up and find that young lady! I gave the heirloom emerald pendant of our Quillen family to the girl who saved me. If you find her, Walt, you must thank her profusely on my behalf. No matter what she asks for, you must fulfill her request!”
  • “Understood, Grandma.”
  • Walter stepped out of the ward, his demeanor icy and stern, reverting back to his usual unapproachable persona. He commanded in a frosty tone, “After finding the person who has the emerald pendant from my grandmother, try our best to fulfill her request.”
  • That person had saved Hannah's life, and the Quillen family wouldn't let her efforts go unrewarded.
  • Immediately, Cody respectfully responded, “Yes, Mr. Walter.”
  • Once again, Walter unlocked his phone. His gaze, cold and deep, fell on the chatbox. He then gritted his teeth, a hint of wicked audacity tinting his cool, restrained eyes. Very well...
  • The young girl still hadn't responded to him with a single word.
