Chapter 40 No More Lies

• Susan was released from the hospital. She made her way back to the house she shares with Kadeem.
• She opens the door and walks inside. The house is eerily quiet. The shades are drawn. Susan hesitantly calls out.
• " Kadeem!" Susan calls out as she walks around the house. Every room is empty. The TV is off. There are no dirty dishes in the sink. Susan walks into the room she shares with Kadeem. The bed is still made from this morning. The room is still neat and tidy. Susan is terrified about Kadeem's reaction to the baby.
