• “Hi, there!” Jude Parker, Nicole’s dad, greeted with expressed enthusiasm. Mike was glad to hear the father greet him with a cheerful voice and tone, it comforted him somehow. Mike was not at ease to be in Nicole’s place, especially about being in her room as they spoke to her parents even if it was just over the phone.
