• Callan POV
• I lay in bed, but sleep eludes me tonight, not because I’m worried about something and my brain just won’t switch off, but because my mate is sleeping soundly beside me, and I don’t want to miss a moment with her even if it’s just watching her sleep. I love the way her eyes flutter as she dreams and the soft snore that escapes her sweet lips. But what I love most is the way she mumbles my name as she dreams about me. I can’t imagine ever closing my eyes at the end of the day and not having her beside me, and it kills me knowing I’m going to have to leave her here, but I need to think of my pack now as well; I need to step up and be the alpha they deserve. Plus, I won’t be leaving Ayla alone here; Eric and Micha have offered to stay at the penthouse until Ayla takes her place by my side. I’m just not sure how I will manage having the forest between us.
