• Callan POV
• I didn’t want last night to end. The girl of my dreams, literally, had walked into my life and flipped everything upside down. Her scent was the most mouthwatering thing on this earth and I craved it. Her lips looked so juicy all I could think about was how I wanted to taste them, to take her plump bottom lip between my teeth as I ravished her body. I had trouble committing to anyone when she was just a figment of my imagination, but now she was a real breathing goddess, how was I ever going to manage now? How could I live my life knowing my dream girl, my true mate, was out there, and I couldn’t have her because her life was more important to me than anything else in this world, and for me to have her, would mean her death. I couldn’t help but slip out of Pedro’s party and follow her. I had to make sure this was real, that it wasn’t just a dream, and what I found only made me want her more. She was hypnotic, the way her body swayed to the music ignited a fire deep inside my stomach which burnt higher the more I watched her.
• After I had made sure she got home safely, I made my way up to the penthouse, but my mind was preoccupied with her beautiful face, the sound of her voice and her scent, fuck she was the most mouthwatering thing I had ever smelled, and it drove me wild. I ended up spending the night pacing my bedroom floor, unable to get the girl who was sleeping soundly below me out of my mind and the dilemma I was facing. My wolf was going wild. He wanted to get to her and make her ours, and I wanted nothing more than to let the world know Ayla was mine and only mine, but I couldn’t do that. She was only a human. If I marked her, my life would be entwined with hers. If she died, I would die. If Alister found out I had a fated mate that was human, he would kill her just to hurt me and if I had marked her, then he would kill her, so he could keep the pack for himself, so I would do the right thing no matter how much I didn’t want to, but rejecting her was the only to keep her safe.
