  • But, had she agreed to go and leave Sophie behind, he would have agreed to an annulment. Dear God, that was what he really wanted. This was what he had planned from the beginning and, blind idiot that she was, she had walked right into it! It had not occurred to her that Leo's offensive might be demanding his marital rights. But Leo had somehow guessed what would disturb and distress her most and he was prepared to play that card and utterly humiliate her in the hope that sooner or later she would take flight, leaving Sophie in his sole custody.
