Chapter 11 A Hundred Billion Debt
- “What do you mean!” Kon pushed the devil. “Don't you dare come close to me, you psychopath!”
- “Psychopath?” The devil smirked, “I love the sound of this.”
- “Let me tell you, Devil, or whatever your name might be. Stay out of my damned business!” Kon balled his hands into fists.
- “I think it's too late for that, my dear. I've paid off your debts. Don't you think you owe me?” Smirking, the devil walked towards Kon once more. “Even if you don't want me in your business, it's too late.”
- “I will pay you back. Just name your price, and I will do that!” Kon sounded more confident than he felt.
- “Are you sure about that?” The devil darkly chuckled. “I will hate to break it down to you, love, but I don't think you can do that.”
- “What do you mean? Name your—”
- “A Hundred million.”
- “What?” Kon stood shell-shocked, with his mouth agape.
- “That's when you remove the debt for the house. Total or everything is close to a billion.
- So, tell me, Kon. How will you be able to pay the debt?” The devil looked amused as he watched Kon whose eyes were darting around.
- “That's not true! The last time I checked, it wasn't up to a hundred! I was—”
- “Did you check with the debtors, or was your mother the one who told you?”
- “My mother,” Kon slowly said. His eyes widened a bit as they dawned in realization.
- “See? Your mother kept on taking loans while fooling you with that meagre amount.
- Do you even know she planned to sell you to one of the loan sharks, and—”
- “No, that's not true!” Kon took a step back in shock, “I know my mother hates me, but there is no way.”
- Yet, he knew it was true.
- His mother was much capable of doing something like this.
- “Your eyes say what your mouth is trying to deny.” The devil chuckled, “you should be grateful I was willing to pay your debts, Kon.” He gently touched Kon's chin, “you have to make sure I'm satisfied enough to let things slide.”
- “Don't touch me, you devil!” Kon slapped the Devil's hand off his chin. “You are not worthy to touch me!”
- “Worthy? What do you think will make them worthy? Isn't it enough that I paid off your debt?”
- The devil frowned at the stubborn boy.
- He doesn't understand why Kon was acting this way.
- He thought Kon will be grovelling on the floor, thanking him for delivering him from his debts.
- Who would have thought the boy will be this ungrateful?
- “I will pay you back your debt if that's the last thing I do, Devil.” Kon narrowed his eyes at him, “give me time, and I will pay you back!”
- “Time?” The devil laughed. “Is two days enough?” He mocked.
- “Yes, it's more than enough! I will return it in two days!” Kon turned, and left the room, making sure to bang the door loudly behind him.
- The devil chuckled as he watched him leave.
- Just like he imagined, there won't be a boring day with the Feisty boy.
- It was a welcome change from the girls who throw themselves down at his feet if he so much as looked at them.
- The devil took his phone and dialled Scorpion's number.
- “Sir, do you need me to buy cond—”
- “The boy has left the room. Find him, and guide him out of the building.”
- “Sir?” Scorpion sounded surprised.
- Of all the things he expected to hear from the devil, this wasn't among them.
- “Do as you were instructed,” the devil said before he hung up. “Kon, I must have you in my bed, screaming out my name as I show you the pleasures and pains of the world.”
- *********
- Kon trudged down the halls of the school with his back hung, and his mind preoccupied.
- It hasn't been up to 10 hours since he last saw the devil, but the toil was already telling on him.
- “Kon, do you—”
- “Where can I get a billion in two days?”
- “What?” Lin blinked in confusion. “What are you talking about? Who asked you to get a billion?”
- “Nothing!” Kon frowned. “Forget I said anything, I was just soliloquizing.” He shrugged.
- All around them, students were rushing past, each desperate to go home, but Kon wasn't after that.
- His entire thoughts were on how to get the money in two days.
- He knew he was reckless when he promised the devil that he will pay back, but what was he supposed to do in a situation like that?
- Allow the devil to treat him however he liked?
- That wasn't an option for the proud Kon who wasn't ready to be a slave to his enemy.
- “Kon—”
- Noises coming from the entrance of the school caused him to pause.
- “What's that noise?” Lin frowned.
- “I don't know,” Kon shrugged.
- He wasn't in any way concerned with what was happening. His mind was more focused on how to earn the money.
- Kon has imagined ways of earning the said money, but none was legal.
- “Let's go and check it out!” Lin dragged a reluctant Kon towards the entrance of the school.
- “Let me go!”
- “Don't you want to see what the ruckus is all about?" Lin smirked.
- With one hand holding Kon, he gently pushed the students on his way until he was standing Right in front.
- “Oh, my God.” A gasp escaped his throat when he saw the devil.
- Today, the devil wore a dark red suit, with black shape designs on them. His hair was slicked to the side, giving him a rugged look.
- And paired off with the sunglasses he was putting on, he looked like he just stepped out of a fashion magazine.
- The sight of him leaning on the car was enough to drive all the girls crazy.
- Their squeals were loud enough to burst a person's eardrums.
- The devil was a sight to behold.
