Chapter 15 Together

• I didn't want to admit that I missed that idiot, but I did. Dante was a selfish, cold-hearted, traitorous bastard, yet there was something about him and what we had that I missed when he wasn't around or when I knew for sure he wouldn't be there at some point during the day.
• In the last few days we spent together, he was a different man, someone I didn't recognize. I thought Dante would ignore the fact that we had a daughter. He always said he would never be a father, and back then, I didn't care. It was only when I found out he had left me pregnant that I thought about that phrase a thousand times. I thought he would help me simply because of our past or the responsibility for the consequences of our brief time together.
