Chapter 5

  • After almost 30 minutes, I was done bathing and as dressing up. While standing in front of the mirror as I combed my gold wavy hair downwards, I couldn't deny the fact that I was extremely cute. I mean, too hot and handsome, that it was frustrating to me.
  • I mean, all this is useless and does nothing more than make girls act crazy around me and drooling over me. I had to walk around with body guards to avoid any of them from coming close to me. I got this almond-shaped sea rover-blue eyes and bristly eyebrows with hawkish nose and defined cheekbones with a concrete jaw giving me a perfect handsome face.
  • I hissed and flung the comb away and that revealed my muscular arms and Titan’s shoulders through the short sleeve shirt I was putting on. Not even my broad chest and six packs could be hidden by the red shirt.
  • Everyone kept telling me how flawless I was from head to toe with their cheesy smiles and eyes full of admiration. If only they knew how much I wish not to hear all that.
  • Gosh! I don't need all those compliments at all from anyone.
  • With a hopeless shrug, I walked out of the room, shutting the door angrily as if it was the cause of my entire problem.
  • My hands were both dipped inside my black trousers pockets while I took a step at a time, keeping a straight face. Smiling was like the most stupid thing to do. Why should I ever smile when there is nothing to smile about in my life?
  • The maids cleaning the hallways all paused for a moment to focus on me as I walked past them. I had to keep my eyes away from their faces to avoid seeing what might make me fire them all.
  • Finally, after walking reluctantly like a snail, I got to the palace, located at the last floor of the Royal mansion. The door was opened for me by one of the guards, and just as expected, my father had a visitor.
  • I knew they were really discussing something serious as I could sense how tense the environment was. It was like there was a looming danger that needed to be erased immediately. Their faces were far from smiling, but my presence changed it all.
  • They all turned to me and were grinning and staring in same admiration as always.
  • "Wow..."
  • "Is he a human being?"
  • "What a very cute son you have got."
  • "I can't believe someone can be this perfect."
  • Those were their compliments, coming from every corners, Including my parents who had been seeing all the days of their lives. I don't get why they join the visitors in spilling those praises.
  • The frown I got in my face deepened more with a deep growl rumbling inside my chest as my eyes sighted the only young girl who was sitting right there beside the so-called visitor, waving and smiling cheesily at me.
  • She was absolutely the reason I was being forced by my father to come here.
  • I rested my gaze on her make-up-face for some minutes, as my heart boiled in anger. She has an oval face, heart-shaped lips, a pointed nose, and dimples with her blonde hair permed and flowing freely down to her back, but I can't still see any reason to like her.
  • Her golden gown clung around her body and stopped over her laps looking sophisticated and expensive. Even her cleavage and nipples were quite visible due to the top part of the gown being transparent. She must have taken all day to primp and prepare herself to meet me, but yet, nothing about her appeared attractive to me.
  • Why can't my parents surprise me one day by not allowing all these girls who accompany every visitor that comes to see him? They seemed to still have high hopes for me. Why the hell should he ever think I still have a heart to love? That soft heart is long gone.
  • The girl's lust-filled eyes were all over me now, shimmering with emotions. She was even blinking her eyes in what seemed like seductively, maybe for her, and that couldn't just stop pissing me off, especially when she began to primp and blush. Maybe because my stare had lingered on her, she then had a bit of hope in herself.
  • Yuck!
  • I rolled my eyes and kept a straight face forward, regretting why I had looked at her in the first place.
  • I stepped forward and bowed to my father, who was smiling like he had won some lottery. My mother wasn't exceptional; she was also giving me one crazy wink that I can't just comprehend.
  • Ignoring them all, I sat in my position beside my father, making sure I didn't repeat the same mistake of looking at the new girl my parents had allowed in alongside the visitor who looked like an alpha with his attire and aura.
  • Although he kept forcing a smile, I could see it was all fake and there was something really eating him deep.
  • He looked so cranky, puffing and huffing silently as his red eyes roamed around hopelessly.
  • My eyes rested on him for some seconds, and I can't tell how, but I instantly hated him. When his eyes caught my stare, he smiled, but that smile irritated me so much that I snorted at him instead of returning the smile. I could see how surprised he was.
  • "Finally, my stubborn but extremely cute son is here. We are sorry for keeping you all waiting, but I really want him to be here to see how things are done in the palace, to prepare him for the future as my successor," my father began with a smile, drawing all their attentions back to me.
  • I hissed and looked away.
  • "Before we proceed, let me ask him a little question," my mother chipped in, and that brought my gaze to her as she left her chair to walk over to the other side, where I sat.
  • She drew her mouth to my ear, maintaining a constant smile. I don't know what brought all this smile of happiness. What is here to be happy about?
  • "Why are you smiling?" I asked my question, but she ignored it and whispered the most irritating sentence into my ears.
  • "Do you like that girl with the visitor in any way? I noticed how you stared at her more than usual."
  • I cringed and backed off my ears from her mouth as a wave of disgust rushed down my spine.
  • "Like who?" I whispered back, gritting my teeth and hoping she wasn't talking about the girl beside the visitor. Could it be that those smiles all this time were because I stared at the girl longer?
  • "That girl there is a Beta daughter. Her name is Nana. She..."
  • "I am done listening to you! I hate the girl." I snapped, pulling my ears far away, and that made her sigh before walking back to her chair in disappointment, which was what I badly wanted.
  • Dad knew what was going on, and that made him glare at me while I eyed him back.
  • "Let's continue with our conversation. But before then, introduce yourself and the girl to my son, as he barely walks out of this kingdom, so he doesn't know any Alpha or the names of our neighbouring packs " my father breathed, rolling his eyes at me again, which I returned with a snort.
  • "The introduction of the girl isn't necessary. Not like I will need it in my life.." I frowned and could see how the girl's cheeks flushed red in embarrassment. Her eyes were already getting wet with tears as she gazed at me shockingly.
  • "Don't mind my son, do as I say." Dad ordered with those angry tones that made others flinch in fear, except me.
  • "My name is Sean Dark, the Alpha of Crescent moon Pack, and here is the beautiful Beta's daughter who came with me. Others are mere royal guards, " he introduced with a cheesy smile directed at me.
  • "You can sit and finish up whatever brought you here. You are an Alpha with no Luna or a daughter, coming here with the Beta's daughter. Maybe she's the most beautiful in your pack right? Yuck! I don't see any beauty here. What about your daughter? She is too ugly like you, or you don't have a daughter?" I sneered, but dad wouldn't let him answer any of that as he ordered him to sit and ignore my questions.
  • Not like I care.
  • "So you need the silver and wolfsbane mixture to find out her true identity, which is likely to be that she is a demon, right?" They began talking about whatever it was they were talking about, while I was looking elsewhere, knowing fully well that the so-called Beta's daughter was peering at me.
  • "I regret the fact that she is my only offspring. I could have known she was evil when she killed her mother at childbirth with very painful labour," The Alpha lamented bitterly, and my ears were itching already. I badly want it all to end, so I will leave here.
  • "What is her name again?" My father asked gently.
  • "Ava," he replied, and my body felt strange sensations rush through me. The name made me shudder a bit with goosebumps spreading through my skin for a reason I don't understand.
  • "Ava is the name of your daughter?" I suddenly asked him, even before I could realize, and this made them all turn their gazes sharply at me in surprise.
  • "You are suddenly interested in the conversation now? You care about his daughter's name?" My father inquired with raised brows, staring at me straight into my eyes.
  • "No. I don't care. " I snapped and flung my face away, but this time, my ears were sharpened to the discussion. I don't know why, but I am suddenly interested in the girl, Ava.
