Chapter 7 Slavers From Alcarod
- "Rasmus sent you?" The Lycan asked. He was now among other Lycan-sized men in black. They seemed to be his guards.
- As the slave masters pushed me towards the Lycan, I stumbled and fell, landing on my side.
- "Mr Kain. This one will suit your demand. She used to be a noble but she's a bit feisty."
- Mr Kain walked forward and picked me up from the ground with one hand, setting me on my feet. He examined my face and smiled slyly.
- "Is she untouched?" He asked.
- "She is, Sir."
- Everything in me hated this, hated being talked about like a piece of bread or clothing for sale. My heart burned with the desire to just take a knife and stab them.
- The slave master continued, "I can check, and show you."
- I remembered hearing about slaves being fingered, prodded and penetrated randomly to prove their virginity. I knew I had to do something quickly. I stiffened. I turned to my left and saw Olivia, Brian and Bennett.
- "No. There'll be no need. I want her intact." He smiled, his eyes twinkled yet they seemed to hold nothing good. "Of course, if she isn't what you say, I'll end your entire enterprise."
- "Let me be with them!" I yelled, kicking and shoving my foot at the slavers.
- "Let her go to them," Kain said. "And who are they?'
- "The package comes with her younger siblings, good sir. They're yet pups," the slaver said.
- "Oh, what a delight! My club could use some young'uns." Kain laughed, patting my hair in a way that made my stomach revolt. I would never leave without my siblings.
- "She is pretty. Load em up!" He said. "And what did we agree again?"
- "Twenty five thousand Incas, Sir," the slaver said.
- "I will not be giving you that amount. I'll take them for ten thousand," Kain replied, approaching the slavers, ready for fight.
- The slavers and riders had pulled their swords immediately.
- And at that moment, I knew I had the window I needed. Both parties had begun to haggle on price, and the rider had shoved us behind towards the carriage.
- My heart began to race. I knew what exactly we had to do. I knew what I had to make my siblings do.
- "Listen, Olivia." I pulled her. "Brian, Bennett." I whispered.
- "Which way do we run?" Bennett said. I could see the look that would be on his face even in the darkness.
- "We're running. What about Mom?" Olivia said. Her voice had begun to quiver.
- "We'll come back for mom," Brian answered, and I could see him grabbing her shoulder in the glow of the lamp over the door.
- "The moment I say, we run as fast as we can towards the border. Run!" I paused and grabbed Ben's shoulder and he grabbed Brian, who grabbed Olivia and we made a circle. "Together. Towards Hanaerum! Ready?"
- I saw them nod in the low light from the lamp across where the Lycan and the slavers were haggling. Their voices rose and rose.
- Suddenly, a gun shot rang out. And then another.
- I looked at at my siblings, my heart was racing so fast I thought my chest would explode.
- "Ready!? Now!"
- And with that, we ran as fast as our feet could carry us, towards Hanaerum of the Lycans.
- As we ran, we heard the Lycan, Kain, call out. "They're escaping! Get them!"
- "Faster!" I bellowed to my siblings as we ran into the night.

- ROME
- Dusk had come quickly and now one couldn't see so far into the night.
- The meeting with the Alphas of Alkarod hadn't taken too long. They had all sworn they had nothing to do with slavery anymore and even offered to present a few former slaves to be questioned on the kind of treatment they received.
- They'd said the last traitor who had continued selling slaves had been executed and his children been given to slavery for a period of seven years. Rome couldn't help but wonder how much good the law did seeing that the Alphas explained that the daughter of the traitor had attacked some nobles and hurt many of them in her wolf.
- Saddening.
- The story drained the Lycan King. The fact that he had to journey at night drained him even more.
- Erika's betrayal still burned him. The only way he could distract himself was focusing on the issue with the Alphas at Alkarod.
- The pain from watching Chester and Erika fuck right before his eyes and the pain of knowing that Teriel had probably known a long time before he did without saying anything had his chest tightening in a maddening grip that had him struggling to breathe.
- It was all too much.
- The Queen of all Hanaerum.
- It was the talk of the entire Lycan territory.
- Of all the things in the world to befall Rome, it was the one thing he detested the most.
- Infidelity.
- When he had become king two years ago, he had made sure to retire all court members who couldn't stick to their wives. The king had grown up watching his father cheat on his mother constantly. And what made it worse was that her love for him never did wane.
- Even on her death bed, the former king couldn't keep his cock to himself. He fucked everything that had a hole in it and never cared to hide is promiscuity. Rome had grown up to detest him and all who couldn't stick to their partners. This had made it quite difficult for him to love or fall in love in the first place.
- "Help!"
- The troupe of carriages halted so suddenly, he was jostled out of his seat.
- The screams continued drawing his attention.
- What the bloody hell was going on?
- They seemed to be coming from the woods and seemed louder as if they were nearing his travelling party. Before the guards and Teriel could come to stop him, he was out of the carriage.
- "My Lord!" Teriel pleaded as he saw the king step out. "You need to stay protected."
- "Protected, my foot. The people who need protection are in those woods," he yelled.
- As if on cue, four young people ran out of the woods, breathing heavily and shaking.
- "Help us!" The oldest yelled. Her hair was a mess, but she had the most beautiful face Rome had ever seen. Her eyes almost shone in the light of the moon and torches from the carriages.
- "Who's after you!?" He yelled, pulling the pistol he had strapped to his side, almost immediately.
- She seemed to be their caretaker and she was bleeding on her legs but she ignored it, pulling all of them out of harm's way. She was begging for our help, but shielding them from us, in case we turned to be the enemy.
- "Slavers!" She said. "From Alkarod."
