• As Kain's people pulled us away on the second carriage, I watched Bennett and Brian screaming and being held back by the guards. Olivia struggled too, kicking, scratching, and yelling. I watched her and I wept even more. We'd thought we'd found peace and rest. We thought we'd be safer. For the past few hours, we thought we had found it. My heart sank into that gloom again.
