Chapter 1 For Him
- Wendy Dawson was not a gold-digger. She simply had a realization. In her view, men, whether wealthy or not, were all worthless.
- If she had to choose one, why not pick one that was wealthy? After all, she had the looks to sift through “garbage bins.”
- Having just left the hospital after a hymenoplasty, Wendy received a call from Finley Brown.
- Finley said, “Get ready. I'm coming to take you out for dinner.”
- Wendy guessed that Finley was at her company at that very moment, not downstairs but in her boss' office.
- He was testing her with that statement.
- So, she earnestly said, “I'm not at the office. I'm in Ylegas. The company has a benefit for only children, which requires my ID card. I'm going home to get it.”
- Finley had intended to pick her up, but Wendy declined, opting to take a taxi to the station instead. Throughout the journey, they remained on the phone with each other.
- The driver found himself glancing in the rearview mirror several times, unable to resist the allure of Wendy's striking beauty.
- She spoke gently, her entire demeanor filled with the innocence of someone who had just left the school gates, naive to the ways of the world.
- Little did he know that Wendy had just celebrated her twenty-fifth birthday and was far from being a naive young girl anymore.
- The first time she laid eyes on Finley, she knew that he was a wealthy scion from Yarburn.
- So, Finley pursued her with all his heart and soul, but it was only because Wendy wanted him to. After all, things easily gained were often easily discarded.
- When Wendy exited the train station, she spotted Finley towering above the crowd at first glance. They held hands and climbed into a white Mercedes-Benz G Class parked by the roadside. Unable to contain himself, Finley kissed her as soon as they were in the car.
- This marked the third day since the pair had officially become a couple. Wendy found herself caught in a dilemma. She couldn't engage with him passionately, yet she also couldn't act like she did on the first day, stubbornly trying to avoid him.
- Striking the right balance was challenging, much like her current situation. She had to keep her body slightly stiff, yet she couldn't keep her mouth shut. Her head instinctively wanted to tilt back, but her tongue had to keep moving.
- After a moment, Finley opened his eyes from the kiss. The look he gave Wendy was one of blatant seduction.
- Wendy feigned shyness. “I'm feeling a bit hungry.”
- Finley then took her out for a meal, and after they finished eating, they went to play squash.
- When squash first became popular years ago, Wendy used to play it all the time. However, whenever Finley picked up a racket, Wendy would pretend she didn't know how to play.
- In this way, Finley was able to teach her up close and personal. Both of them were lightly dressed. When Wendy noticed that Finley had an obvious reaction, it was quite intense.
- She knew Finley wouldn't be able to hold out for too long. He had pursued her for three months, they had been in a relationship for three days, and they hadn't even shared a bed yet. Given that he was a billionaire's son, this was his utmost sincerity. Any longer, and she would be overstepping her bounds.
- Therefore, Wendy quickly went to the hospital to get a hymenoplasty, ready for whatever came next.
- After her workout, Wendy changed into the dress that Finley had prepared for her.
- Finley took her out for a meal. When one was with a wealthy person, activities were typically limited to dining and bedroom affairs. Wendy used to complain about the monotony, but she had since become wiser. After all, it wasn't any different when she was with someone who wasn't wealthy.
- As they entered a private club, the room was already filled to the brim as soon as the door to the private room was pushed open. Three large round tables were occupied entirely.
- From within the crowd, someone called out, “Ah, the guest of honor has finally arrived. Happy birthday, Finley!”
- “You look stunning, Wendy!”
- Finley didn't flash a smile. To put it more accurately, he had a long face.
- Everyone in Yarburn knew about the Brown family's complicated past. The moment Finley looked upset, the entire room fell into a silent hush. In the end, it was someone from the side who stepped in to lighten the mood. “Is it necessary for you to point out that Wendy is beautiful? Shouldn't you be focusing on the food instead of her face?”
- The person who was being scolded knew he'd made a misstep. He quickly raised his glass to drink and apologize.
- Today was Finley's thirtieth birthday, and his mood was fairly good, just getting by as usual.
- Once again, Wendy profoundly understood what it meant to be a vassal under the influence of wealth and power.
- Regardless of whether they were buddies or women, they were all just accessories.
- The group of people had been causing a commotion in the restaurant for a couple of hours. However, their departure was not the end. Instead, they each climbed into their luxury cars, rushing off to their next party.
- In the pitch-black backseat, Finley was kissing Wendy, his touches gentle and unhurried.
- Wendy had intentions to seduce, ideally when Finley was drunk, and to take him to bed. Although the doctor had repeatedly assured her that everything was fixed, she lacked experience. She was unsure about the reliability of this kind of surgery, one that was completed and discharged on the same day.
- Finley's kissing skills were impressive, clearly honed to perfection over time. Wendy was afraid that he was too alert and might realize that she was not a real virgin.
- “Mmph...”
- Finley was caught off guard by Wendy's reciprocated kiss, his breath hitching audibly. He took her hand, guiding it to rest on his body.
- The car had a soundproof partition. Through the thin layer of her formal dress, Finley gently caressed Wendy.
- With a swift tug of his arm, Wendy let out a soft gasp as Finley pulled her onto his lap.
- Wendy feigned shyness. “Finley...”
- Finley gently hoisted her skirt up to her waist. “Don't be scared. I'll be gentle,” he reassured.
- In the dim light, Wendy looked at Finley's private part. She first doubted he could be gentle, and secondly, she didn't believe that something of this size wouldn't hurt the first time.
- She was reminded by her traumatic first experience.
- Finley's breath was heavy. “Babe, I promise to treat you well for the rest of my life...”
- Wendy felt like laughing. Promises made by men in such moments should just be heard and not taken to heart. Terms like “forever” were nothing more than mood enhancers.
- The two were seated together, with Finley lifting Wendy by her waist. She watched as Finley was ready to...
- Suddenly, a series of honks erupted from behind the car. Wendy looked up, and through the tinted windows, she noticed a Rolls-Royce trailing behind their Bentley.
- Meanwhile, Finley's phone rang. Given his current mood, one would expect him to lose his temper. However, shortly after answering, he laughed and cursed, “Haha! Bro, you're so sneaky.”
- Up ahead, the traffic signal turned red. Both the Bentley and Rolls-Royce came to a stop side by side. The rear windows of the two cars rolled down simultaneously. Finley glanced to his left, inside the Rolls-Royce, an exceedingly handsome face met his gaze.
- The man's handsome face lit up with a grin. “It seems like you're in a good mood. Having fun in the car?”
- Finley asked, “Is that not allowed? Do you own the streets?”
- “The whole of Yarburn is your playground, isn't it? Move aside. Let me see which girl has got you so worked up?”
- Finley responded, “Scram. Do you think you can just show up late and expect to see her?”
- “You celebrated your birthday late last year and suddenly switched to an earlier date this year. I was vacationing abroad, yet at your single phone call, I hopped on a six-hour flight. So, who among us isn't going above and beyond?”
- Finley asked, “You didn't bring your girlfriend?”
- “Who told you I have a girlfriend?”
- Finley said, “You don't have to bring your girlfriend, but you could bring your fiancée instead.”
- “Stop rubbing salt on my wound.”
- Having said that, the man proceeded to roll up the car window.
- Finley also raised his glass, turning his head to the right. Wendy was firmly hidden behind him, not uttering a word. She even used her coat to cover her entire head.
- Finley chuckled as he said, “Don't worry. He's gone now.”
- Wendy didn't dare to show herself. She didn't see that person, but she would recognize that voice even from miles away.
- With great effort, Finley revealed Wendy's face. “Are you scared or just shy?”
- Wendy was thankful for the dimness inside the car as it concealed her distressed expression.
- She spoke softly. “You guys go ahead and have fun later. I want to go home.”
- Finley said, “Hang out for a while. I've already spoken to your boss. You don't have to go to work tomorrow.”
- Wendy stated, “You're all men...”
- Finley said, “I've asked them to bring their girlfriends along to save you from any awkwardness.”
- Wendy came up with several excuses, but all were addressed by Finley.
- When the car came to a halt at the entrance of the amusement center, Wendy was at her wits' end, even entertaining a sense of pure foolishness. It had been nearly five years, would he still recognize her?
- Even though the voice sounded similar, maybe he wasn't that person.
- Or perhaps... they had already broken up, and now she was Finley's girlfriend. Any smart person should understand without it being stated explicitly.
- Engrossed in her thoughts, Wendy was completely oblivious to the gaze firmly fixed on her from within the Rolls-Royce behind her.
