Chapter 10 The Clinic
- "Your clinic obviously."
- Somehow, Quana felt that Neil was a little weird that day.
- The clinic? Neil thought as he desperately tried to recall where the clinic was. However, he could not remember where it was. "Hey… Um, can you drop me off at the clinic? It's dark and I'm afraid of the dark," said Neil.
- This made Quana speechless as she replied, "Fine, I'll drop you off."
- "Thank you, you're a good person," said Neil. He thought to himself, Dammit, I can't believe I don't even know where I live! This is probably the worst luck for someone who's been transported here! Gosh, Quana is truly a kind person! She's willing to drive me to the clinic.
- They remained silent throughout the drive. However, Neil was reflecting on everything he learned about himself. So, first things first. I have a beautiful wife, but that is fake. Secondly, I married into my wife's family! Thirdly, I have a horrible mother-in-law! Fourthly, I have a romantic rival! And finally, I have a clinic. Those were everything Neil had learned then. With that in mind, he actually felt bad for his original host. However, regardless, he still had to move forward. So, he started to think about his next steps. He spent the entire journey thinking and finally, they arrived at a pretty old residential area. The houses there were old and the roads were filled with potholes. Moreover, there were a few hostels there, and they were built to accommodate foreign workers.
- "We're almost there," said Quana as she turned a corner. Neil noticed the short houses and the sketchy crowd through the window and immediately frowned. "Wait, I live here? It's so run down!" However, Quana shot a peculiar look at him. It was almost as if she was asking him if he thought that he would be living in a palace. Neil felt helpless when she did that. Soon, they stopped at a tiny door. "We're here," said Quana.
- Neil nearly cried when he saw the tiny unit. "Oh gosh, I actually live here!" He sighed and got out of the car. The unit was Neil's clinic. There was a dusty sign that read, Serenity Clinic.
- "Alright, it's getting late now. Take care. And this is your allowance for this week," said Quana as she took out 3000 dollars and handed it to Neil.
- Oh wow, I get paid? Neil accepted the money without hesitation.
- "I'll get going now," said Quana as she got ready to leave.
- "Wait!"
- Quana turned around and looked at Neil. "Is there anything else?"
- "Yeah, I need to clarify something with you," said Neil with a serious look.
- "What is it?"
- "Would you believe me if I told you that I never hired a hooker?"
- "Yeah," said Quana.
- Neil found her quick reply strange.
- "Alright, I'll get going now. See you soon." Quana left after that. As Neil watched her leave, he turned around and looked at his clinic.
- "So, this is my home from now on? Good gosh!" It's too dark! There are dogs barking, and sketchy people everywhere! Neil scanned the area around his clinic. However, he did not look around his clinic because he was interested, instead, it was because the metal grate had a lock. The worst part was, he did not even have the key. "Dammit!"
