• The silence in the car was annoying. Brynlee tapped her fingertips on her thigh while staring at the boring view from the window. Calling a taxi or Uber would have been the best option rather than being stuck in the car with a cold Elyseen, but he insisted on taking her home. Brynlee knew Elyseen didn't really want to take her home. He gestured towards his living room door—where Mrs. Cassandra stood, watching them through her reading glasses. In a whisper, Elyseen said that her mother was the most stubborn woman in the world. If Cassandra wanted something, she would make sure her wish was fulfilled at all costs.
