• Laughing, I opened the door to my room and motioned for Chase to go in. “Please! If anyone actually fought in those boots they’d break their ankle in three places!”
• Chase shrugged. “It’s still sexy to watch a woman battle in high heeled boots. Although a real vampire is a lot harder to fight than that series makes it look.”
• I held up my hand, shaking my head. “Do not destroy my illusions that the scariest thing in any realm is you and your brothers, please.” Really, vampires?
