Chapter 2 The Double Life Of A Secretary
- Before Megan Reed could speak, he heard one of the men ask: “Mr. Mayor, is this your secretary? The chick is very exciting. With such a beautiful secretary hanging around every day, isn’t your wife jealous?” Leo Mayor glanced at Megan Reed with a half-smile, and said coldly: “What kind of wife, nothing.”
- Megan Reed’s heart sank. She had been Leo Mayor’s secretary for three years and his…wife for three years. In a legal sense, she is a genuine Mrs. Mayor, but in fact, she is just a secretary who comes and goes as she is called, and she is not even qualified to ask him why he has other women in his arms.
- Not surprisingly, she and Leo Mayor did not marry because of love.
- It’s just because his beloved woman died,
- and she happened to be six or seven
- percent similar to that woman.
- Leo Mayor recruited her to be his
- secretary, but his old man urged her to
- get married, so he simply dragged her to
- register for the top tank.
- Why choose her?
- She knew in her heart that 1% of it was
- because she was obedient, sensible and
- good at work, and 99% was because of
- her face.
- After she got married, she also wanted to be a good wife, take good care of her life, and work hard to match his pace, try her best to cater to every decision he made, and meet every one of his extremely
- demanding requirements. Among them is the one undefined no matter at any
- time, any place, as long as he needs it, he
- must appear in front of him within thirty
- minutes.
- For three full years, she never had a
- single complaint.
- In the past three years, she didn’t live
- like herself at all, but more like the
- shadow of that woman.
- And now, Leo Mayor has found a shadow
- more similar to her-
- (
- It was this Ms. Vance who was sitting in
- his arms and acted like a baby.
- “No wife? I remember last time your old
- man mentioned a few things about his granddaughter-in-law…”
- Leo Mayor’s face darkened, his eyes were
- cold: “I said, no.”
- The two men on the opposite side also
- saw that he changed his face, and he dared not talk about this topic anymore,
- and started jokingly making fun of Megan Reed.
- “Mr. Mayor said he didn’t have it, so he definitely didn’t. Oh, but this little
- secretary is really on point. If I have a
- good figure and good looks, I will
- definitely work overtime every day
- hahahaha!”
- “Working overtime? You usually don’t
- even go to the company!”
- “If there’s a pretty little secretary
- around, I’ll go every day!”
- “Go every day, are you healthy?”
- “Who do you say can’t do it?!”
- Megan Reed listened to these two men’s
- nonsensical words, and their eyes
- greedily flicked back and forth on her
- shirt and A-line skirt, feeling nauseated
- in her heart.
- Leo Mayor was still sitting in the same
- posture as before, holding a goblet in his hand, dignified and indifferent, with a
- mocking smile on the corner of his
- mouth, even though the two men lusted
- after her from head to house, but Not a
- single word was said from beginning to
- end.
- She could only pinch the neckline tightly,
- and took two steps back slightly to hide
- herself in the shadow of the light,
- blocking those two annoying sights.
- Leo Mayor frowned suddenly, and looked back at her: “Is there anything else?”
- She shook her head: “No.”
- Then what are you still doing here?”
- ་་ ……I’m leaving.”
- He gave an expressionless “hmm”.
- Since Leo Mayor ordered her to leave, he
- never looked at her again. He just looked
- at the red wine in his hand without
- giving her half a look.
- Megan Reed sighed and turned to leave.
- As in the past three years, obedient and
- sensible, Megan Reed even felt that she
- was simply a human Siri.
- Those lewd chatting voices still came from behind: “Ms. Vance, the women around Mr. Mayor have come and gone all these years, and none of them have been brought out to show the brothers.
- This is considered a status. You are the
- first in the world, and you will become
- the real Mrs. Mayor in the future, don’t forget us.”
- Sasha Vance sat up straight suddenly, her face was reddish, a little shy: “Leo and I
- are not married yet, not Mrs. Mayor…”
- The men laughed: “You see, Mr. Mayor
- didn’t refute it. This is the default.
- Sooner or later, Mrs. Mayor’s seat will be
- yours.”
- The other also said: “However, Ms. Vance
- is really generous. You can rest assured that such a beautiful little secretary is next to Mr. Mayor? Why don’t you fire
- her and leave it to me.”
- “No one knows you, not even where your company is, why do you need a
- secretary?”
- Of course… we are all men, we know everything, so what else can we do?” The
- man said a few words in a low voice,
- which caused a burst of ambiguous
- laughter.
- “That depends on whether Mr. Mayor is willing to give up his love?”
- The voice behind her drifted into her
- ears, and Megan Reed’s leaving footsteps
- came to a sudden stop.
- All the surrounding sounds seemed to be blocked, and she could only hear his gloomy and magnetic voice, with a seemingly indifferent smile: “If you like
- it, you can take it away, I don’t care.”
