Chapter 1 The Double Life Of A Secretary

  • “Ms. Reed, come to the Golden Beach.”
  • Megan Reed was woken from sleep by a
  • phone call, she looked up at the time, it
  • was 2:30 in the morning.
  • “now?”
  • A familiar and lazy voice came from the
  • other end, laughing mockingly: “As my secretary, 24-year-old Megan is on standby, if you can’t do it, you can leave.”
  • She had a bad cold and had been groggy
  • after taking the cold medicine, but she
  • regained consciousness immediately
  • after hearing this.
  • She took a deep breath, pinched her
  • thigh, and forced herself to wake up:
  • “Okay, I’ll be right there.”
  • Changed clothes and went downstairs to
  • drive all the way. The Golden Beach is the
  • name of a well-known bar in Houston. It
  • is located in the bustling downtown area,
  • and cars can’t drive in at all.
  • Megan Réed had no choice but to park
  • the car at the alley and trot all the way in
  • her ten-centimeter high heels. When she
  • finally arrived at the entrance of the
  • Golden Beach, she looked at her watch
  • again.
  • Two fifty-seven.
  • Fortunately, it only took twenty-seven
  • minutes, within the time he requested.
  • After arranging her hair, she walked in.
  • The bar was full of people, but Leo
  • Mayor was still the most eye-catching
  • one.
  • He was wearing a black suit and sitting in the booth, holding a radiant glass in his
  • hand, slowly shaking the amber liquid in
  • it, his silhouette was sharp and clear, and
  • his posture was elegant and outstanding undefined he always did this, making
  • him People noticed him from the crowd
  • at a glance.
  • He raised his wrist and looked at his
  • watch, frowning slightly.
  • Megan Reed didn’t dare to delay any
  • longer, walked over quickly, and stood
  • beside him: “Mr. Mayor, I’m here.”
  • Leo Mayor didn’t speak, and two other voices came from the booth opposite.
  • “Yo, two fifty-nine! Sure enough, it’s
  • before three o’clock!”
  • “Hahaha Mr. Mayor is still amazing, half Megan is really half Megan.”
  • Only then did Megan Reed discover that besides Leo Mayor, there were three
  • people in the booth, two men and one
  • woman.
  • Two men sat side by side across from him, and the woman… sat in his arms.
  • Leo Mayor slightly hooked his lips, looked at the woman in his arms: “I
  • won.”
  • The woman thumped him coquettishly: “Okay, okay, you can do whatever you want, can’t I cooperate with you?”
  • The two men opposite immediately
  • screamed excitedly.
  • Megan Reed frowned, “…what won?”
  • One of the men kindly explained to her: “Mr. Mayor said that his secretary is very capable. No matter when she is called, no
  • matter where she is, she will definitely appear in front of him and stand by within half a Megan. We don’t believe it, Ms. Vance I don’t believe it either, so I’ll
  • take a gamble! See if you can really arrive
  • within thirty minutes.”
  • As he said that, he put the car keys in
  • front of Leo Mayor with great regret: “Oh, it’s a pity that the limited-edition
  • sports car I just mentioned, I haven’t
  • driven it a few times, so it’s gone.”
  • Leo Mayor took the key and twirled it
  • twice on his finger, and said with a
  • smile: “I would like to admit defeat.”
  • Then he turned to look at the other:
  • “What about you?”
  • “Okay, okay, here you are, here is the key
  • to my villa, and it belongs to you.” After
  • finishing speaking, the man gave Megan
  • Reed a very displeased look: “Ms. Reed, is the salary of a secretary very high? As for Are you so dedicated? You caused me
  • to lose a villa worth hundreds of
  • millions!”
  • Megan Réed pursed her lips tightly and
  • said nothing.
  • Her eyes fell on the woman sitting next
  • to Leo Mayor.
  • The light in the bar was dim, with mottled light and shadows. She hadn’t
  • paid attention to the woman’s
  • appearance. The moment she saw her
  • face, Megan Reed’s palms were drenched
  • with sweat.
  • Sasha Vance, a little star who has been
  • very popular recently.
  • The key is……
  • She looks so much like that guy.
  • Even…better than myself.
  • Leo Mayor didn’t show anything special, he was still sitting lazily on the sofa in the booth, his slender legs were crossed,
  • and one arm was placed on the back of
  • the booth behind the woman. The
  • woman’s deliberate ingratiation was not
  • allowed, but she was not refused either.
  • He looked at Megan Reed, with a half smile, half anger, and a flat tone: “It’s
  • okay, you can go.”
  • Megan Reed took a deep breath and exhaled slowly: “So, you called me here in the middle of the night just for a bet?”
  • Leo Mayor raised his eyebrows, and the gentleman who was still smiling calmly
  • said, “Otherwise?”
