Chapter 4 You'll Be My Bride
- “I am really fine …” Sarah wanted to break free from his big hand but found that his hands were as strong as iron chains and there was nothing she could do.
- “Miss, get in the car. Your injury is on your head. If you do not treat it well, your life will be in danger!” Jayson stood beside her and opened the car door for her.
- Sarah still wanted to refuse. But before she could say anything, a cold and powerful voice interrupted her.
- “If you want more people to see you in a sorry state, you can walk back!”
- Christian let go of her hand and looked forward expressionlessly.
- Sarah blinked weakly. She was a little hesitant to get into an unknown man’s car but she was even more hesitant to let people see her like this.
- It was almost the office time and many people had started to come to the company.
- As the President’s secretary, almost everyone in the Cooper Group knew her. If people knew that she had been dumped by the man she loved for nine years and had become like this, then. . .
- As she thought about this, she didn’t hesitate anymore. Sarah lifted her foot and got into the car.
- Jayson immediately closed the car door, took Christian to the other side and helped him sit in the car.
- The Range Rover started moving quickly, and it sped towards the hospital.
- The car drove through the city and the scenery outside the window kept changing. However, Sarah’s world was blank.
- At this moment, she could neither see nor hear. All her memories seemed to have stopped at the scene just now.
- Was she a fool?
- She smiled sadly. The smile on the corner of her lips was so depressing that it broke one’s heart.
- Nine years!
- What a touching number!
- Why did nine years of persistence become a cold joke to her?
- Why did the man who she loved with her all heart to this to her?
- The car arrived at the hospital very quickly. Sarah followed Jayson and the ice-like man to the emergency room.
- The doctor carefully treated her wound. He also prescribed some medicine for her.
- About half an hour later, Sarah sat on the Range Rover and left the hospital again.
- About ten minutes after the car drove out of the hospital, the car stopped in front of a square. Jayson opened the door and got out of the car.
- The car was completely silent for a few seconds before the man’s cold voice was heard.
- “I remember your name is Sarah, right?” He rarely came back these years, but he often heard his brother Julian mention it. He had some impression of her.
- “Yes …” Sarah looked at the sky outside the window and replied woodenly.
- Christian looked at her for a moment before moving his gaze away.
- “I came back this time to prepare to get married.”
- “I see …” Sarah answered absent-mindedly.
- After what happened in this morning, she was not interested in anything or anyone.
- Christian didn’t mind her impassive response and continued, “The woman you saw in the office is my fiancée.”
- “Ohh …” Sarah answered softly again before realizing the meaning of his words. Her body slightly stiffened.
- Sarah suddenly turned her head to look at the resolute man. She asked back in surprise, “You just said that woman is your fiancée?”
- Yes, she seemed to have heard it just now.
- It was just that she was sad and didn’t have time to react.
- Christian did not have any expression on his face. He just looked coldly at Sarah. “The day after tomorrow is our wedding day …”
- “A wedding?” Sarah was stunned for a moment before shaking her head. She smiled sadly.
- Her heart turned cold again.
- Julian knew that the woman was his brother’s fiancée. He actually had a relationship with his sister-in-law, and even had a child!
- She actually liked such a person for nine years!
- Sarah was shaken by this sudden news. Compared to her restlessness, Christian was relatively calm. He behaved as if he was not the one who was betrayed or involved in this whole thing.
- “I’ve already sent out all the wedding invitations. The wedding must be held as usual. Although it’s a little sudden, you’re the most suitable person right now! I will give you one day to consider. The day after tomorrow, you’ll be my bride!”
- Sarah almost choked on this person’s words. She looked at this man in disbelief!
- What did he say?
- She would be his bride?
- Sarah was shocked out of her wits by his words but Christian seemed not to care about it. He continued in a cold voice, “Even if you don’t want to accept the scene in the office just now, it is the truth. If you marry me, I will give you everything you want, other than love.”
- Sarah finally could not hold it anymore. “Are you joking with me? Do you know what you are talking about?”
- Sarah did not know what kind of expression should be used to look at him. Her mind was in a mess.
- This situation was too sudden that she could not recover from it for a moment.
- “You have one day to think about it. If you decide now, we can go register at any time.” Christian did not mind her questioning. He looked straight into her eyes. His knife-like face was cold.
