• Airina smiled at her mother who tenderly held her hand and spoke gently, “Child, I’m sorry for not being a good mother to you all along. I… lacked and had my shortcomings.” Her voice was apologetic, and it was clear from her eyes that she was serious. Behind her mother was her husband standing from afar, he seemed to not want to spoil the mood between them.
• Unconsciously, for a brief moment, Airina wondered if she could ever find someone like her mother’s new husband. Eyes never lie and it was evident that his eyes were full of affection and, at the same time, respect for his wife. Airina felt happy for her mother.
