Chapter 23

• Laura tried hard not to think about what happened the previous evening, she kept herself busy through the rest of the day and avoided going into Devon's room as much as possible. The only time she went there was to give him his medicines and also when she went to check upon him.
• She knew she can't avoid him forever but she just couldn't face him now. Not like she was angry or anything, he didn't do anything wrong, just that she didn't know what to say to him. If his phone hadn't rung when it did they would have crossed the line,
• What had she been thinking? Obviously, he gave her a lot of time to pull away but she had chosen to stay and if the phone had not rung she would have let him kiss her, the fact that she was more disappointed that the kiss didn't happen than regret was the reason she was avoiding him.
