Chapter 13 I’ve Memorized You!
- After those words rolled off Sean’s tongue, he was on the brink of tears. Why can’t I control my own mouth?! Why can’t I control it?! Stop spilling the beans!
- When Christopher heard Sean’s confession about his sexual disease, he couldn’t help himself and laughed out loud.
- It was unexpected that Sean—who seemed educated and refined with his glasses and all—was such a man.
- It took Christopher a solid two-minute to grudgingly stop laughing.Wiping off the tears at the corner of his eyes, he pointed at Samantha before he continued to ask, “What’s your relationship with this girl?”
- At once, Sean thought to himself, I’m doomed.
- At the same time, his heart dropped. Obviously, he did not want to answer Christopher’s question, but it was beyond his control. “There’s no relationship between us, but Samantha’s mother is a patient at our hospital.”
- “Is she very sick?”
- “It’s quite severe. She’s still in a coma as we speak.”
- “Then can you help her?”
- “No?”
- “Why?”
- “That’s because not only am I just a trainee doctor, even my medical license is bought. I can deal with small issues like flu or cough, but it’s absurd to think that I can cure a patient in a coma!”
- “Y-You b*stard!” Samantha would be too naive if she still hadn’t caught on that Sean was a complete conman. Unable to control her anger, she walked up to Sean before giving him a heavy slap across his face.
- The sharp sound of the slap rang in Sean’s ears.
- It was evident that Samantha went full-force on that slap as Sean’s left cheek that took the blow had turned scarlet in an instance. Blood-stained saliva spattered out of the corner of his mouth. Even his glasses were sent flying a few meters away.
- Staggering on his feet, Sean took some time to steady himself.
- With her fists tightly clenched and teeth grinding, Samantha seemed like she wanted to rip Sean into pieces.
- After spending some time looking for his spectacles on the ground, he finally found his spectacles that were broken from the impact. Not bothering to pick a fight with Christopher for what he did, Sean quickly attempted to explain himself to Samantha. “Samantha, you have to listen to my explanation!”
- “What is there left to explain? You said it yourself. Stop making excuses.”
- “I…” Sean wanted to say something, but he could not come up with a single word.
- What was happening?
- Why was he only capable of telling the truth?
- “You! You did this!” At this moment, Sean shifted his gaze to Christopher. It all began after that punk splashed some sort of beverage on him. He couldn’t lie anymore ever since then. It must be his doing!
- “I did not do anything!” Christopher feigned innocence in response to his accusation.
- “Until now, you’re still trying to blame it on someone else!” Seeing that Sean was still looking for an excuse, Samantha spat angrily.
- “Scram!” With the point of a finger toward the road ahead, she hooted at Sean, “Scram immediately!” She did not want to see that lying b*stard for another second.
- Now that the promise to cure Samantha’s mother alongside all his other lies were exposed, Sean did not know what else to say. Obviously, his plan to have sex with Samantha was no longer going to happen. Hence, he did not have any reason to stay there any longer. Giving Christopher a glare filled with hatred, he cursed silently, What a jinx!
- Sean left the scene immediately after.
- Christopher’s mouth twitched as he brushed off what just happened. Conmen like Sean were everywhere nowadays, so he was not really surprised by this encounter.
- At this moment, Christopher heard someone sobbing.
- Turning his head toward the source, he realized that the girl named Samantha had crouched down, burying her head in her arms as she wept quietly.
- Christopher made his way toward the girl and crouched down as well, wanting to console her. However, before he could do that, the girl pulled him into a hug.
- “What do I do? What do I do?” Leaning against his shoulder, she let her tears run down her face as she mumbled by his ear.
- He knew that the girl was worrying about her mother who was still in a coma in the hospital. She thought that the so-called head of hospital would be able to help, but she didn’t think he was a conman. It was a huge blow to her. Not knowing what to say, Christopher simply gave her back some soothing pats.
- A refreshing summer-lotus-like scent emanated off the girl. Her chest felt plump, but Christopher did not have any wrong thoughts as he silently remained in his position in the embrace.
- Under the street light, Samantha couldn’t stop crying. Christopher was also giving her gentle pats on the back until her crying receded eventually after some time.
- Having let off some grievance, she felt better. She lifted her chin up and rubbed her puffy eyes, then said to Christopher with an embarrassed look, “Thank you.” She was feeling shy after crying like a kid for so long.
- “Don’t mention it.” He gave her a smile before adding, “Don’t worry too much. There’s no problem that can’t be solved.”
- She nodded silently.
- It was only then that Christopher got a good look at the girl’s facial features. She looked gorgeous without much makeup worn. Her doe eyes were sparkling and rather mesmerizing, and there wasn’t a trace of secularity on her face. With the look of a kicked puppy she had right now, it made people want to protect her. She was quite the opposite of Luna.
- One was seductive while the other was pure; one was captivating, while the other was elegant. Despite the differing image, they were both one-in-a-million beautiful ladies.
- Inevitably, Christopher was dazed. He could have sworn that he was not having wrong thoughts, but the gorgeous face before him was so attractive that it left him in a trance.
- “What is it?” Noticing that he seemed off, she asked with her flushed face.
- “Nothing. You look beautiful.” Christopher did not bother to be subtle.
- At once, a shade of blush blossomed on her cheeks. There were many men who complimented her beauty prior to this, but this time, it made her heart race like never before. Nevertheless, that feeling only lasted for a fleeting moment as she recalled her mother’s current condition.
- “Oh right, I didn’t catch your name,” Samantha said.
- It was all thanks to this man who exposed Sean’s true colors. Otherwise, she could not imagine how much longer she would be oblivious to his lies. Moreover, Christopher had saved her at a critical moment—she didn’t dare to imagine what would have happened if Sean were to enter her house.
- “My name’s Christopher Yard.” He offered a smile as he told her that.
- “Christopher Yard?” With that, Samantha took a good look at him as if she was trying to imprint this man before her into her memory. After a while, she said, “I’ve memorized it.”
- After saying that, Samantha thanked Christopher once again before turning around to leave.
